  1. I'm guessin your talking about the line around all of the tooling? If so it's actually a scribe line from a pair of wing dividers. I drew all of these patterns up on my own surprisingly.
  2. This belt was hand stitched (4 1/2 hours) I was just saying that no more projects will be done this way. After stitching 7 or 8 belts by hand it was time for a machine.
  3. g Sorry I never answered before, but I hand stitched the belt using Nyltex waxed thread from Tandy. Thankfully I bought a Cobra Class 4 a few weekends ago at the Wichita Falls show. No more hand stitching for me.
  4. I can't wait for this weekend coming up, I'll be there and can't wait to see all the great stuff at the show. This will be my first show to go to. Jarrett Van Curen
  5. I like that belt. Only one question. Why stop the tooling at the bend instead of at the end of the belt, does the three inches of non tooled area save that much time?
  6. I did let it dry completely before any dying was done, but it seemed like when I did the dying the areas I had lifted seemed to fall back down some
  7. I can completely agree with you on the backrounding. I do use my finger as a spring, but I do believe I just need more practice. As far as the petal lifter goes I did use one. Now as far as the proper use for the tool goes I have no clue. I do know it is intended to cut into the leather under your petals, but what I am scared of I guess is the depth of puncture. How or what way should I use this tool
  8. And a picture of my truck to explain my name a bit. I love to play with my Cummins just as much as I do leather. Once again any sort of critique on my work is appreciated. I must thank the guys at Springfield leather for the Herman Oak. It tooled extremely well and I was quite pleased with quality. Thanks, Jarrett Van Curen
  9. First off thanks for critiquing. This was the exact type of response I was looking for. Everyone always just tells me how nice the stuff I make is but most will never point anything out, I know there is always something that could use help in one way or another but it's hard to point it out unless someone who has tooled for quite some time will point some stuff out. Thank you once agin, Jarrett Van Curen
  10. Ha well everything is for sale for a right price And as far as the total weight of the belt it's at a 13 to 14 oz belt
  11. Any critiquing is welcome. And once again this is all hand stitched 9oz. with a 5oz. liner Jarrett Van Curen
