Well, no one has jumped in with help or advice.

I reckon, by experience, you can do that but you'll have to face-up to the deglazer removing some of the dye as well. Resolene can be removed with alcohol as well; methylated spirits, vodka.... A more aggressive cleaner is lacquer thinners, aka cellulose thinners

I would; reckon on going over the whole piece to remove all the resolene, this will probably remove some dye as well. Depending on how I [you] want the final look; continue to remove dye to even it out, or leave it patchy. Patchy, as long as it doesn't look a mess, can add interest to a plain coloured surface

Yeah that is exactly what happened. Ended up taking it as close to natural as possible and then re dyed everything

This guy has some really neat looking stuff (perhaps he's even a member here?): http://www.savoyleather.com/

I'm wondering how he gets those stamped impressions for things such as "101st Airborne", "Don't tread on me" with the snake, etc.  They look much too detailed and even (particularly something like the snake) to have been hand-carved.  Any ideas how he's doing that stuff?

Yes he is a member here but I don't think he has been on in a long time.

I have a repeat customer looking for a holster for his S&W SD40VE.  The Blue Gun Store doesn't list this model, any thoughts on another gun that would work?  Looks like most people are saying the M&P holsters will fit the SD40VE but I'd like to know how it's going to fit before I try that.  Worse case scenario is I have to get the gun from him but I'd rather not do that if I don't have to.

It's almost an exact copy of the Glock.
