  1. That’s was who I was thinking. Him or Becky. I see their posts on the Tracker Knife group page on FB…..
  2. Very well could be that the laser head is still just a tad far away. I’ll continue to play with it.
  3. Thank you! Yes, the clip is ambidextrous. Ulti-Clip. Got mine from Amazon IIRC. Thank you!
  4. Thanks so much! Yes, I agree 100% with you on cutting out patterns and stitching holes now (when the settings are right, lol). At first I did not really like the larger stitch holes, but they are growing on me, and make stitching so much easier. Still a lot of challenges to deal with like the singed edges, smell and soot getting on stitching thread, but I'll still take it...... The clip is an Ulti-Clip Slim 3.3....
  5. Thanks so much! The xTool laser is helping me a lot lately on symmetry, stitching holes, etc.
  6. Nice work! I think I know the knife maker from another group. Both are quite nice.
  7. A little laser cut project I recently completed for one of my EDC knives. It is really tight even after wet mold, so I will likely go back and adjust the throat a little.....
  8. Thanks so much! To clarify, I paid drop price for these pry bars at $80 a piece over the last year or so, lol. Still quite expensive for a small pry bar. It’s the brand name that makes them expensive. Former Navy Seal owned company, and they make pretty awesome stuff. I am more of a collector than user honestly… Lol… That’s a cool one!
  9. Hello all. I recently noticed that when I cut out 9-10 Ounce Leather, I will set my xTool D1 Pro 20Watt machine to around 4.5 on the focus side and use the little kickstand gauge as well to get correct focal height, etc. I typicall run the machine on mm/m settings and set to 700mm/m at 100% intensity for 2-3 passes. Most of the time, the laser has burned all the way through. When I do the same steps for 6-7 ounce veg tanned, the first pass seems to really burn the around the line and it takes 5-6 passes , and still sometimes does not cut through all the way. I do use the xTool air assist also. I was thinking that maybe it is just a denser fibered leather and thats why. Anyone else had this issue before?
  10. I can't say it, but they are in fact for pr__ng, lol. Just an EDC pry bar. A bit of overkill to have this kind of sheath, but I like making stuff for EDC tools.
  11. Thank you! Thank you. The second one is in Fiebings Dark Chocolate Professional Oil Dye. Thread is Ritza Tiger Thread in Havanna Brown. Thanks Man!
  12. Couple of scout carry EDC sheaths completed for Half Face Blades mini pry bars.
  13. Reminds me of the "Custom Handmade Damascus Knives" at flea markets and shows, where the "damascus pattern" somehow does not transfer into the exposed sharpened edge, and every knife has the same color and pattern. Yeah, they are knives, but not custom handmade damascus knives, lol.........
  14. Thanks, the setter set I bought for the segma snaps (line 16), said easy snap setter on it and the anvil had two cap seats. I use the larger seat. Maybe you have the next size smaller easy snap. Thanks again.
  15. A magician friend asked me to make him a few coin pouch samples for his store. I have made a few samples and we have been going back and forth on details. I told him segma snaps look better on small pouches like this. Problem I am having is that the outside female setter is deforming the socket because of the thinner leather I assume. Maybe a bad setter, IDK. I think using washers will take up too much valuable space to use. Is there a better snap for this? These measure about 2” by 2.25” completed.
  16. Thank you! Don't mind the offset skull. Was a test to see how it would engrave on the English Bridle, so I just quickly put it on there without centering, lol.
  17. Here's a little pocket sheath I recently finished for my Half Face Blades IWB Dagger.....
  18. Thank you! I typically use alcohol in a spray bottle or acetone, and wipe everything off. Masking tape can pull off a lot of the loose stuff.
  19. Any pics? J/K lol. Everything looks great! Really like the camera case and the wallets. Clean work.....
  20. Hello All, Just wanted to share a short video of some leather cutting action on the xTool D1 Pro 20W. This has saved me so much time making small prototype items......Rory Laser Cutting a small pocket sheath for a knife with the xTool D1 20W Pro - YouTube
  21. Thank you! Good idea with the chucked punch! I like using my traditional leatherwork tools, and still use my Weaver stitching chisel set a lot, but shamefully these holes were laser cut at .065" diameter. Saves me a lot of headache. I still drill holes as well from time to time, but the drill bits tear the leather sometimes and leaves nasty little fragments.... Yeah, I was too far along to redo the whole thing. I sent photos to the guy and pointed it out. He was fine with it. That nail idea sounds like a winner!
  22. Thank you! I have gotten to where I don’t mind the larger holes anymore. Makes it so much easier to stitch without pliers. Plus I generally drill out the holes on thicker items like this, but my small dremel bit sometimes flexes and ruins the piece, coming out the side. Thank you! I had him send me photos looking down the blade from head to butt. Appeared to be about 1/4” I think. I did double welt thickness……
