  1. Does anyone know how to find the info behind this when companies say something like this? Take company Linjer for example, how can I actually find out where and what these factories are?
  2. I've been to Maverick a few times. Cool people working there. I usually get my leather from Wicket & Craig, however. I'd like to visit Hide House one day...
  3. Feel free to only release it to me for now Can't wait!
  4. Any hints as to when the iron comparison drops?
  5. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on where Panerai sources this stuff from? Or anything similar, really. I understand it's calf but how was this tanned? Any info appreciated. Link for reference: http://www.panerai.com/en/accessories-watches/bracelets-and-straps/8-luminor-assolutamente Cheers
  6. I can't recall the size of the needles as they're from Tandy when I first started but I used 532 Fil au Chinois Lin Cable. Cheers
  7. Hey guys, I have a brand new set of Euro style pricking irons. I bought them off the Bay which takes about a month to receive in the states. The only time I've used these was for the photo to show their marks. I do use another set of the same make (3.85mm) that works great. Selling these because I'm happy with the look/spacing the 3.85mm gives. This is for all 3: 10, 5, and 2 prongs. Asking $18 shipped to ConUS. 8. Thanks. Would the 2 ply be equivalent to 432?
  9. How does this stuff compare to Lin Cable? What would the 3-ply equate to? 432?
  10. That looks great. Any photos of the underside? How thick is the leather?
  11. This sounds about right! Can't wait for the review.
  12. @Nigel, thanks for the pic! I don't suppose you tested out the Chinese European style irons that can be had on eBay?
  13. Can you comment on how sharp they are? Did you have to sharpen them at all? Thanks!
  14. Wickett & Craig Bridle is very good. Bridle is usually finished on both sides, but when I had them split it to 3/4oz, I didn't pay to have the flesh side refinished. Still, the flesh side is uniform clean.
  15. I've read places that "real" English Bridle will have bloom. I've ordered and use W&C bridle for wallets and this "bloom" was nonexistent so I'd be inclined to say that the real stuff is more hot stuffed, as a previous poster suggested. That said, W&C is still very, very good. Edit: Very possible the higher weights have it. The stuff I used was 3/4oz.
  16. I have. The hardware is better than the stuff you can harvest from inexpensive NATO straps. Relatively expensive, though.
  17. Hey there, Was curious if anyone uses the Premium Veg Sides from the Hide House in Napa, CA? How does it compare with Hermann Oak? Wickett & Craig Skirting or Tooling? Any samples of what you've made? Cheers
  18. Thanks! Wearing them today and couldn't be happier. The Pro Oil Dye is some amazing stuff. I still have half of the small bottle left after this project!
  19. Thanks. I just received samples from Hide House in Napa CA and they have Veg Tan Kip and Veg Tan Calf. The calf looking like what I got from Waterhouse and a sort of tan/grey color. The Veg Tan Kip, however, looks like more "normal" veg tanned leather. I always though kip = calf? Confused. Oh well.
