Thanks Tom for your comments. I am in awe of people who do these incredible tooling work. I am newbie in leather working and just started a few months ago.
For the elastic on the moleskine cover, I have created a slot in the leather on the inside that allows the elastic to come out. Please check one of the pictures here (http://www.etsy.com/listing/98687678/moleskine-notebook-leather-cover) and you can see how I did it.

Hello everyone,
I would like to present a Moleskine Notebook/Journal Cover with custom laser engraving. I use 3-4Oz vegetable tanned leather for the cover which is laser cut (profile and holes), laser engraved with a word cloud, hand stained and hand stitched.

Did Campbell Randal eventually made this tool and started selling it? Did someone get it from some place in US/Canada?
