Thanks, yo! Even though these big one's hurt my brain trying to figure out the proper order of layers, they're still my favorite to do.
I am in awe of your leather applique skills.
Can I ask which machine you use? As a sewer, I do know that a lot of that great stitching is your skill in the driver's seat but the machine sure is laying down nice stitches.
Thanks! As Russ stated above, I use a Juki DNU1541. Love the damn thing. I'd be lost without it, actually.
Thanks again for all the compliments!

I think it looks fine. Make the changes to the stitching...stitch from the outside rather than inside for the prettier stitch, and hide those raw edges on the pockets and you'll be good to go.
I might suggest flipping the pocket on the left side of the wallet so that the opening faces the inside of the wallet...to prevent cards from slipping out of the wallet when closed.
I have a Highlead bell knife skiver. Best investment I ever made. Highlead makes just about all of the skivers out there. The other companies just stick their label on em and mark em up. Check em out.

Thanks! I just took another order from the same customer for another tattoo project. Should be super cool.

Great job. What are you going to use for the stuffing?
Some stiff fiber-y stuff. I don't know what it's called. Only in the fingers and thumb and near the wrist.
Wow, this is looking great. I really like the colour contrast, especially the contrast stitching. Looks like a lot of work for sure. Good luck!
It's basically a glove inside a glove. Still have to make the inner glove, then hopefully stitch and lace it all together. Next week maybe.

Thanks, buddy. I can already see some things I'm going to have to change if I make another one.

I have always admired, and been confused at how much goes into making a baseball glove.
So I decided to give it a go....

Still have a lot to go, but gotta get back to the job list.
Ill work on it here and there.
Wish me luck...it'll either be super cool or a huge disaster. One of the two.

Thanks, all!

Skiving just the edges should help.

Thanks!
If I knew then what I know now, (about pricing and what people are willing to pay) I would've been charging a lot more back then.
It's all about perceived value.
Plus, at the prices you listed, you're working for free.

I didn't think I really put anyone down from Etsy, or bashed anyone. I looked there (didn't even know what Etsy was) and saw stuff people are selling and their prices and it did make me feel not so self conscious of what I can produce. I think one of my problems is I base where I am at in leather working (beginner) to what my grandfather use to sell and I am a far ways away from that.
I figured price wise for a simple wallet like the picture I posted I would charge $40-45.
If they want one side tooled I would charge $50-55.
If they want the whole thing tooled $60-65.
Stiched or laced, finished colour, of course is up to the persons choice.
I was told that if it is a pretty intricate or super detailed design they want that I should up the charge too. Is this correct?
Not one person seemed to have a problem with that price range that wanted to order and all said they understand that since it is all hand crafted it would be a little more. Is this a good price range or should I charge less since their are still details to be fixed on the product?
Again, I appreciate all the advice that everyone has given me.
Double those prices....at least.

It's very cool music. Son House. Look him up.

I usually tear it up pretty good when I go back home to Springfield for leather.
This is a short video featuring some of my friends from the most recent visit.

Haha. Thanks! Ya, I even have to take a breath after it's over. It's the music.

Thanks. The zombie is a customer supplied logo. I didn't design it, was just lucky enough to get to recreate it in leather. I load up with a couple pounds of scrap from springfield leather when I go. I pick out leather that looks cool or whatever. You never know what you'll be asked to make.
Thanks again.
