New Mexico, Alamogordo, why you got one for sale?
I'm on the fence about selling it. It's the cast iron one I've put their upgrade on. I don't use it since I got my Adler. I'd consider selling it to someone that was close enough to come try it out and not have to bother with the hassel of shipping.

Just tell your leather supplier you want the lesser quality leather with brands, scars, blemishes etc. They will be happy to hear from you. lol

If you get into tooling your going to seriously regret keeping the craftools and selling the others. After you learn how you'll be wanting to sell the craftools so you can upgrade to the others, you'll be saving yourself $100's of dollars.

They have a kit to up grade the cast iron ones now. Where you located Blacky.

Very nice and if they were lined they wouldn't scratch the glass.
What do you recommend lining them with Thor, Cloth, felt...?

Maybe a pair of needle nose pliers to reach down in there.

That looks to me to have been done with an embossing plate. If you'll look at the football one it's easier to see. I think the red thread Idea would look better.

get a couple of curved needles. they'll reach right in there.

I understand money is tight but useing 2 or 3 times the amount of light to make dark or buying the thinner to lighten the dark will actually cost you more than buying both.

The tooling looks good except for the lack of decorative cuts. The more expensive belts are usually sewn and have a backing which you have not mentioned. I can't see the edges well but they're usually very nice also. If you want to post the size of the belt for potential customers keep the zero where it is and measure to the center hole. The price will probly be determined by the demand.

I had a problem with my 205 not winding even. It winded mostly on just one half of the bobbin. I simply tightened the drive belt and it went back to winding perfectly.

You may be right Colt. I use spray can Saddle Lac and when it cracks it turns whiteish and if I rub it with my fingers it peels off to a certain point. That design in the pic looks "to me" to have been put in the leather especially the loop and the cracks behind the buckle look like worn out weathered cracks. Maybe Rolox will let us know after some trail and error.

I could be wrong but that look doesn't appear to be the finish. What Colt said will crack the finish but it will peel and rub off afterward. I know this from acidentily spraying too much on a belt. If you've already tried it and it's not what you want alcohol or deglazer will take it off.

That's some kind of centerbar roller strap buckle. Here are some that are similar and in my opinon nicer for a belt.

When did the 205-370's get that cheap? Mine was $7,500 nearly 30 years ago.

Ok Uwe, looks like a square corner is the main culprit there. I think I'll get both that and an open toe and see which I like the best. Thank ya'll for the help. Troy

I've never used bridal leather. I pretty much always use HO because I tool everything.
