  1. I do many if theses. I use a cardboard insert
  2. I’ve used matt board like for framed pictures. There’s also a utility board that’s about 1/8” thick also. I used to get it at Michael’s but it’s easier online.
  3. Thanks. The contact adhesive is water based but I was thinking the mat boards are stable enough. I typically use 3/8" MDF which doesn't move. Also, I am in CO where the humidity is 7%-ish.
  4. I make leather wrapped architectural wall panels. I take mat board as used for picture frames and wrap them with 1/16" thick finished leather then stitch the perimeter as a detail. On a recent project, after I installed with contact adhesive they shrunk revealing a 1/8" gap between the panels on the wall. They were tight to each other when I left them for a couple days. Anyone know why this happens?
  5. Awesome! Not to be a detractor, but doesn't seem like a practical sheath though. Cool non the less.
  6. Sure. I'll post some pics of what I have. Had a tooth pulled yesterday so give me a day or so.
  7. Nice collar. I think it's great the way it is. Your stitching would last better and not rust, etc. Just mho.
  8. I have a lot of Edelman Leather scraps/left overs of various sizes that would be great for wallet & wallet insides or purses, bags or? Ostrich, Snake, Suede, Others. Selling small and large quantities, let me know what you need and I'll tell you what I have. Thanks! Bk
  9. I have some black shark. Also, stingray, croc in a few colors
  10. Thanks. I have tons more pics, they're just too big for this site. Mine aren't magnet backed. I cut MDF, wrap and glue directly to the wall. This one is padded.
  11. Just a few. I also wrap handrails, but my files are too large. How do I post those? Oh well, only one image posted.
  12. I reside in Colorado and have been working with leather on and off since the early 70's. My interest started with making sandals and sewing leather patches on Levi's to cover holes and such. Most of my leather work now is wrapping hand railings and putting leather on walls among other projects. I play guitar and make straps too, as I noticed others here do. I hope I can learn from some folks here and maybe lend some expertise at what I do best. There are some wallet projects I've seen here that are calling me..... Bk
