It's a 12 x 36 lathe. I'm looking for something with torque at all speeds. It had a huge 1hp Japanese motor from the 80's on it. I'd like something lighter and quieter.

I want to run a DC servo motor on my 12 inch lathe. I need a 1hp motor with a knob speed control and a simple off on switch.

It's a small, domestic DC motor, a speed controll with a knob, a power supply, and an off/on pedal.

Will a machine sew when reversing the motor? Also, if so, do any of the motors have remote reversing?

I'm trying to install this foot pedal and the rest, but I don't recall how. Machines been packed away for a couple years. Yup, can't post pics. A pedal, a DC speed controller, a power supply.

I was going to mount a larger pulley on the machine, with a hand wheel on that. Shaft is metric, and couldn't find the right bushing for the pulley. I'll give up untill I'm settled and can set up my lathe.

That's kind of a sweet set-up. I like it, and it would fit. Hmmn...

Wondering if someone can point me toward a smaller DC motor, power source and speed control, to mount behind a smaller machine, but on top of the table? I am needing more oomph than a regular sewing motor (1.5amp AC motor) will give, and want to the lower speed and better power of a DC motor.

Ya-Ma-Ta, rhymes with Ta-Ma-Ta. Was new to me also. Been fixing and tuning my mothers half dozen sewing and 2 serger machines. Made me want one... Also found a lust for old 6 drawer treadle sewing cabinets, so going to mount my Pfaff 332 and the serger on two, and the Seiko on another, if I can.

Bought a Yamata DCZ-503-D3 serger. Basically new, no wear at all. Need some help. Anyone know where I can get a users and service manual for it? I don't even know what oil to put in it. I want to run as compact of a motor as possible, and wondered what servo motor would fit the bill?

Bought the 3/4 hp servo motor, love it. Have also ordered an even larger pulley, to get one stitch per second on level three. Bought some books, a few more tools, and a side of 12oz veg. tanned. Wish i knew how to get it to do one quick stitch per each "jog".

Looking for a pattern to make a check book wallet to carry cards, ID's, cash etc.

Looking to start a little library of reference materials for making holsters, sheaths, cowboy goods, buckskin clothes etc. All about hand and machine sewing, needle choices, thread choices, patterns, molding holsters and whatever else. I have a good set of braiding instructions. I'm not ready to do ornamentation yet, but good info on that would help as well. In other words, what's out there to learn from, that comes highly recomended, and will remain usefull even as I progress in this craft?

Wondering what types of threads are used in machine leather sewing, and what ones are used in what type leathers? Also wondering about the types of leathers used, and if different needle sizes are used for different leathers? Direction toward a good book would or source of info in chart form would be great.

I've put an Enduro 1hp motor on it, and am very pleased. Put the 2" pulley and am pleased with that. Ordered a 10" machine pulley, bushing to get it to 15mm +/-, and a steering wheel spinner to mod into a hand wheel. Don't have them yet. If all works out, I will have a machine that can go from 20rpm to 1000rpm. Ordered a few assorted ten packs of needles. It had a lot of thread included. Ordered a 10 pack of bobbins. Wondering, What are common wear items on a machine like this? I'd like to keep them on hand. Anyone got some scrap Veg. Leather for practicing on? Need to find an affordable (yea, good luck) bobbin/hook complete assembly. Going to add lighting to the table.

I can't find a way to change the stitch spacing on my machine. It has a black plastic, spring loaded paddle on the front where I would expect the stich spacing control to be, but it seems to loch the machine when it is pressed down. No change in spacing.
