I'm looking for something similar only for a belt and open on top...will keep my eyes open for something like this

My son asked me to make a belt with 2 pouches like shotgun shell pouches, open on top. He is an auto technician and wants to be able to throw lug nuts in them while working on a car so he needs to be able to retrieve them pretty easily....suggestions on type of leather I should use and if anyone knows where I can get a pattern I can modify? Love how auto correct made that she'll instead of shell.
