The edging reminds me of what pinking shears do on fabric. I've seen some advertisements for pinking/edging machines under leather working machines on ebay.

Beautiful. Love the lock and the broguing. Is the broguing part of the pattern, or your addition to the case.

Nice. Is it laced or stitched together to form the tube that goes on the handle? -

YW. I love Landwerlen's. It's like stepping back in time, and they are very friendly and helpful. They are a bit of a drive for me, but worth it.

Welcome. Check out Landwerlen Leather Company landwerlen-leather-co.business.site 365 S Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46225 Great place. Near Lucus and Union Station.

Welcome Catharina.

Thanks for sharing. That was amazing the beauty he created with minimal tools. The old cast iron sewing machines (esp. singer, or singer based) are great. Nothing fancy, but wonderful stitches when they are cleaned up, and they can be on a treadle, hand crank, or external motor. Parts are readily available and relatively inexpensive.

Very nice. Very detailed work.

Beautiful work as usual. Did you make both of your jigs? They are very nice, from what I can see in the picture.

These are not industrial sewing machines and can't handle heavy leather. You might want to read about Singer 201-1 (Treadle Operated), 201-3 (BR external motor with belt drive) or 201-4 (hand cranked), or the K versions made in the UK between 1935-1962. 201-k, 201K3, 201K4, 201K21,23&24. . Germany also made a verson from 1935-1944? 201D (cast iron model as 201K3 etc.) There are forums regarding the Singer 201s and I think there may be a Facebook group of users. I think all of these models could use a servo motor in place of its current motor if needed. Here is a link to Harry Rodgers on youtube discussing it. Harry is a Leatherworker, if you haven't heard of him. Best Budget Leather Sewing Machine? - Bing video. Any Singer 201 with -2 (I believe) has a potted motor which is attached directly to the machine and doesn't use an external belt. Most require checking out the wiring in the motor.

Nice gift for your wife.

Maybe a custom Bible Cover, or the custom holster if she has a need/use for it.

Great Video and thanks for talking about how you made the plastic bag and seal it up.
