  1. Sounds good to me. What about a master patternmaker position? haha, just looked you already got it in your info
  2. Still though, I would prefer to be told the truth rather than what she thinks I need to hear and she is pretty good at that and it gives me more food for thought
  3. I'm a believer in "right tool for the right job" but I also love quality. So i'm finding that building a tool collection that is both varied and well engineered is bloody expensive but worth it. Also I showed my wallet to my auntie and asked for some blunt advice (she's an expert:), so I was expecting her to have a go at the stitching or to point out something with the pockets. Instead she said that if it is handstitched then it needs to be more blatent, after showing her a couple of pics, I realised that she actually meant lacing. To her she doesn't care if the stitches look clean, if it's handmade then it needs to look so. Well it's one opinion, I suppose I did ask
  4. Nice tip, i'll give it a try when a get a tidy square. What is it about leatherworking that no matter how many tools you seem to have, you always need more
  5. The Good Side The Not so Good side So messed up on the inner right stitchline, someone distracted me when I was making holes. Not happy with the corners but have just bought a corner cutter that will hopefully sort it. So the Buffalo burnished edge gives it a soft feel, but it just looks so rough on the aviation leather pockets. I can't see me getting getting the special tools/edge paints to do this properly, so maybe for now the turned edges are my only option for a clean look.
  6. Hi, sorry for the slow reply, got a family member in the hospital + things are hectic at the mo. So I took a look at your wallet and it looks nice, the turned edge gives it a really clean look. If I was to redo this one, I would probably cut the pockets larger and turn the edges. I would also make sure that the pattern that I am using is suitable for UK money before I cut out (this is dollar/euro sized:)
  7. So the main body is made from water buffalo, the pockets are aviation leather and there is some snakeskin detailing inside. Hand stitched (getting better but still dodgy in places:) with ritza type thread. I'll post some open pics later, but what do you think so far?
  8. Hi, so i've been mucking around with leather for just a short while. I decided i wanted to make a prototype collar that could be worn/tested and the the next model would be far superior in comfort, stitching and design. This is after 100+ hours of wear: Please don't slaughter me for any mistakes, as i said this is a protoype, so I used scrap leather for some parts and some of the stitching waves are a little liney (did i say that right:). Apart from that any constructive critism is welcomed. Things I already know: Stitching lines need to be less wavey Edge or entirety of snakeskin needs to be inset to prevent fraying/lifting Strap guide needs to not be secured with thread Need to not use crappy bit of stingray scrap + cut symmetrically and maybe needs a rolled edge or something but it is pretty comfortable at the moment
  9. Haha, I scanread + thought you were posting a pattern for a body bag.
  10. Hi, I am also requesting access to the adult area cheers Wolf
