  1. Checked the lamp, mine is the 12v 20watt halogen version. Set the machine up this week. It picked up right where it left off.
  2. Frank, I'll be ringing around mid-morning to lunch time. Thanks.
  3. Frankqv, glad to hear you are relatively nearby. (Seems I'm far from everybody way down here). Any questions that I can answer for you?
  4. Well, best answer is send Steve an email @ Leather Machine Co. I have a feeling looking at the current specs, not much has changed. 2009 wasn't that long ago The machine isn't a dinosaur and it is one of the best leather stitching platforms. I wouldn't get hungup on versions. Believe me, this machine isn't lacking. The proof is down below. 5. Cobra Class 3: http://www.leatherma...ather-stitcher/ Purchased new in 2009 from Steve Tayrien @ Leather Mahcine Co. If you noticed the color of the machine being different, mine is one of the last of the previous version. I have printed corresondence confirming this. The machine's main task was used to build holsters and belts. It also did lighter and heavier projects and repairs. It was oiled, cleaned and maintained in an indoor environment. It is a solid, working, capable, and surprisingly versatile (with proper thread and needle) stitching machine. This is not your grandma's curtain stitcher. Comes with all tools, accessories, bobbins, hardware, instruction manual and CD that came with the stitcher when new. It's ready to work when you get it set up. Also included are extra packets of needles (different sizes), presser feet and black & white thread. Set up right off the pallet Ready to work - light attached and leather covered table. The machine is currently disassembled and boxed for a cross country move. If you've been around leatherwork, you are familiar with this machine's work capabilities. $1600 cash, Pick up in Broward Co., FL. The stand and machine head are HEAVY and BIG. Bring an appropriate vehicle and persons to help load. If you must have this and it has to be shipped within the continental US, I can get it palletized if you make it worth my while. Also you will be looking at a freight rate. I paid $225 and the palletized weight when it came to me when new was 325lbs. Set your expectations accordingly for what it will cost to ship on top of the purchase price. If we must conduct business electronically because you wish to ship this machine I will take steps to protect myself from scammers. I prefer a USPS money order (you will need to buy several to add up to the amount) or a bank cashier's check. If you wish to use paypal you must prove to me your status and dependability. I have caveats on PP too. If you wish you use a personal check I will hold shipping until it clears. I will not accept any other money orders. I will not do COD. Frankly and up front, if I get spooked and feel uncomfortable about the transaction that is not put to rest by adequate and timely communication between me and you, I will back out and there will be no sale. Trades: If you want to know if I'll take trades the answer is yes. If we are doing trades I expect you to be local. Trades taking place at shipping distances go too wrong and I won't deal with it. I will consider equivalent trades to the total cost of this machine. - I don't want your broke down fourwheeler or broke down anything else. I don't want knock off tools or stolen goods. I don't want a random dish or doll collection. No phones, computers or electronics. No furniture. No refinishing, contracting, construction, landscaping, cleaning, or painting services. - I do like tools, machines, firearms and toys/outdoor/recreational equipment; names like: Miller, Hobart, Lincoln, SnapOn, BCM, Colt, Noveske, Federal, PMC, Winchester, Remington, Mossberg, Sig Sauer, Springfield, Dillon, Arctic Cat, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki. *** I will be busy the next two weeks with family obligations. It will be difficult for me to focus attention on this deal until after my commitments. This ad is to get word out that a Cobra Class 3 is available so buyers can start making plans. *** Send inquiries to me via PM. I will answer and we can get commed over to email. Thanks

  8. Hey Rick, just in the last half hour or so I've moved a few more but hadn't updated the thread here (the no edit thing is kind of tough to regulate several adjustments over a small bit of time). I do have the Redhawk, Colt 1911 and mags available. Will PM you the details. 13. SooperJake, the lot is stil available. To everybody, I will sell the entirety for $475 shipped. I estimate $18-30 for shipping, That gives me just under $25 per gun and you get the mags free. I'm not out to get rich here, just what I think is a fair deal. Buyer gets an item for half the price of a new one with the same functionality. I get a fair used priced for my item.
  14. Rob, go ahead and PM your offer, thanks.
  15. Also add: Ruger Redhawk 7.5" 44mag (Duncan's aluminum) Group pic

  17. Dang, I hate to think what that unit is gonna weigh when it is all together. A 12x12x1" plate is 40lbs! lol When you weld the crossbar don't use too uch heat. Too much will warp 1" plate. When I clicker press a piece there is a really loud POP! that tells me when I'm through. Just before the pop the tension on the pump handle gets real hard - the POP! is the cut through. You will cut into the cutting board, that's just a fact. Rotate the board around so that the cuts are dispersed and you aren't making an exact cut in the same place every time for the same patterns. Conider the HDPE as a maintenance item. It'll be up to you to deterine when it will need replacing. As you go you learn the sound and feel of cutting through, just practice. Always center your piece so the crossbar over the plate is evenly applying pressure to the die. This will help te life of your die so it isn't being crushed sideways and stays straight. Post up photos when you get it all done.
  18. I don't have the build pics anymore. Lost them when photobucket bandwidth topped out and I switched photo host. Just have this pic: My plates are 12"x12". As you can see there is a little more width to play with. IIRC I had 16" total. You will be limited by the width/size of your press frame, just a fact. Do like King's X did and use a slightly wider plate - 12x__. That offers flexibility for putting larger punches under there. Any questions just ask
  19. Thanks Dwight. I'm considering building a pouch without a liner for now (at least a nonpermeable one) and see how the guy likes it. At the very least he can have a workable pouch for day to day. I'd be interested to see how it held out. Meantime I could search around for a liner and do another pouch if I needed to.
  20. What have yall used as a tobacco pouch liner? Did a search and found a couple threads with suggestions - latex, vinyl, etc. But hoping someone could verify what they used and how it held up. Thanks.

    3-5Oz Suede

I believe I asked for suggestions???....and ZERO replies yet, except AFTER I try something different??? Never once blamed the machine...again I say, I asked for thread and needle suggestions!!!! "Way down" is NOT specific And to be fair, this thread had 6 views when I posted back 207 is the smallest I had. I can't buy supplies before each and every attempt at a wild hair

    3-5Oz Suede

Hmm, well, fiddled with it some more. I switched thread and needle the other way (since that's the size of black thread I had and wanted to use) Anyway, 277 and 25 and seem to have it dialed in. Going out on a limb that the bigger needle is making the difference. Could also be I'm tensioning the paint off the cast iron in order to get the black thread to run right. I'll try this and see what happens.
  23. More and more I'm playing with suedes (3-5oz). I need to get the right sized thread and needle so I can stop dreading starts and stops. Currently the small thread and needle is 23 and 207. It's a hint big to get the end knots in there. I'm running a Cobra Class 3. What size needle and thread should I order? I don't want this gear looking like fashion stitched stuff (it's manly tool and garage accessories). Still would like it too look like a leather worker put this together not Aunt Susie with her walmart sewing machine (no offense to Aunt Susies out there with a Walmart machine)
