  1. I like a double layer belt because the belt does'nt stretch. A double layer at the holster area will help avoid "roll over",but allows the single layer to give more. Also. if you decide to add a mag pouch on the opposite side, you're ready to carry.
  2. I got a huge chunk of beeswax from a local beekeeper, and needed to make it ino a size more useful. It was pretty hard, and didn't cut into pieces very well. I bought a couple of flexible plastic ice cube trays at Walmart. Spray the inside if each "hole" with cooking spray, which will act as a mold release agent. Slowly melt wax, and skim off any impurities that may rise to the top. Use a laddle to fill the ice cube trays. Let cool over night, drop out the wax cubes and store in zip lock bags.
  3. I use a 1/2 round ( u shaped gouge) wood carving chisel to cut the top and bottom of my belt slots. Then a straight cut to connect the top to the bottom of the slot is all that's needed for a nice, clean slot. no touch-up or sanding is required if you're tools are good and sharp.
  4. Nice tutorial. I put one together for myself, and it works very well. Thanks ! As a side note to Shorts, holsters on thighs can cause circulation problems. Pressing on the femoral artery is a very effective way to stop bleeding. A well tightened thigh rig could work as a tournequet. Wakling or sitting, the ankle area does not change shape much, and an ankle holster will usually remain comfortable all day. The "geometry" of the thigh changes with position and movement. Please use caution.
