  1. Thanks to both Northmount and Tastech. I love this forum.
  2. I would love to be able to find the year of manufacture for my Landis 12K Curved Needle. The serial number appears to be 476723.
  3. Got this machine several months ago, and removed these parts to clean them. Got busy. Misplaced wax pot lid and drip pan. Now I need to use the machine. I would appreciate any leads. I’m in Western NC, but I will talk to anyone in the lower 48 who has parts. James
  4. Earlier this year I bought a Consew 29BL Patcher. While researching thread for this machine, I found something called D/E. I have no idea what it’s made of, its size, or its needle requirements. Can anyone help? Thanks. Jim in NC
  5. I'm late to the party on this machine. If it is still available, I'e like to know. I am also in WNC. I will post an approximation of my email in this response. James H. lostranger (at) mindspring (dot) com
  6. Considering adding another medium duty stitcher. It will not replace my CB 227R, but will be set up to run slightly heavier thread. Been considering one of the 341 clones, but I happened onto a video demoing the CB 6900. It looks interesting, but I’ve yet to find a price or any user feedback. Do any of you use one? I’d love to share that experience. Thanks and Shalom Jim in Marion, NC
  7. I’m late to this party. Do you have anything left? Thanks, Jim 828-460-77913
  8. Looking for one, but yours is too rich for my blood.
  9. I want to add shoe repair to our harness and general leatherwork business. I would prefer to buy the equipment and contents of an existing shoe shop, but I will consider what shoe repair items you may have case by case. Contact me any way you like. No calls or texts on Saturday. Thanks, Jim eight 2 eight 4 six 0 seven 9 one 3 lostranger (at) mindspring (dot) com
  10. I’m looking for a source for Eddington thread. I’ve been buying it for a couple of years from Solar Leather, and I love it. Now that he is out of business, I cannot find another source. I contacted Bennington, but they did not respond. Surely someone sells their products. Thanks, Jim in NC
  11. Thanks for each comment. Specific sources is what I’m after. I have bookmarked both the sites mentioned by JLSLeather, and I will contact them to discuss my needs. I’d love for more of you to chime in. We’ve done harness and strap goods for a long time and never felt that we needed a clicker. That changed when we broadened our line three years ago. Cutting parts by hand has gotten to be oppressive for the two of us. Most of you know that story.
  12. Are these machines still available?
  13. Contact me directly when you get a chance. lostranger (at) mindspring (dot) com
  14. I need to have several dies made, but the prices I've found so far scare me. Of course I do not want to buy junk, but neither do I want to have to mortgage the farm to buy some dies. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced source with which you have experience? TIA Jim in NC
  15. I have a good Champion wide throat I would trade. jim in NC
  16. Looking for Cowboy CB 818 or similar. Looks like not much recent activity on this site, but I’m giving a few equipment want ads a try. Our shop is expanding a bit, and we’re looking for a clicker and at least one additional stitcher. If you’re selling out an entire shop, i’d Like to talk. TIA
  17. Looking for Cowboy CB5500 or Cobra Class 4-25. If similar machines are sold under brands, I will consider them. I’m in Western North Carolina, but will consider any location in North America. TIA
  18. Is this machine available?

  20. I admit up front that my shoe repair ignorance would fill many volumes, but I have long experience with harness/saddlery/sheath/holster and similar work. We've moved from a home sideline leather shop to a full-time, 3000-square-foot shop in town, and we want to add shoe repair. We have a couple of new, Cowboy machines for general work, but I'm wondering if the old Champion Widethroat that I've had since 1982 would be good for sewing soles? Seems to me that it would, but maybe I'm missing something. I would also appreciate direction to shoe repair information and sources of materials and supplies. My primary suppliers are focused on harness and saddlery and have little in the way of shoe supplies. I've watched lots of YouTube shoe repair video, but specific video recommendations would be helpful. TIA Jim in Marion, NC hedgerowcrafters.com
  21. Thanks for the help. I believe I'll hold out for that Pfaff 335 that I've not yet found and can't yet afford.
  22. I need a medium duty/patching stitcher I have an opportunity to buy a Singer 17U141 for what may be a decent price. Can anyone give me perspective on this stitcher? It's three hours away, and the fellow is not able to send photos. Claims that it's in good working condition. At what price is it worth a 6 hour trip to check it out? What can this machine do? Can I get parts? Any particular strengths or weaknesses? TIA Jim in NC
  23. I've mentioned in a couple of other threads that I'm getting back into the harness and tack business after more than ten years hiatus. I've discovered that I've lost my spare bobbins. Got the latest Pilgrim catalog in the mail today. They have needles and awls, but they do not list bobbins. Any suggestions on a bobbin source? I'm not prepared to go at this seriously with only one bobbin. I would certainly buy used bobbins if anyone has some to sell. TIA Jim in NC
