  1. I knew that was off topic when I sent that last one, sorry. I didn't realize Ireland had that kind of negative number area! We've got Death Valley out west, at 282 feet below.

I'm not surprised to hear of the whirlpools.

The lowest I've had to set my altimeter was at Sacramento, California. And that was above MSL at 25'. My flight training was in the East, primarily Michigan, 865'. You could fly anywhere in Michigan at 300' ASL and not hit anything. Most lately at Ft. Collins, Co. field elevation about 5000'. Not to far from here is Leadville, Colorado, at 9934', highest paved airport in the U.S. Most private aircraft can't even take off there on a warm day.

    My plane at Leadville:

  2. Hi, Bob!

The 4500 I recently purchased came with the blanket set, but it didn't include the serrated feed dog. Is this needed to sew poly webbing? Also, I assume the standard needle plate that came with the kit is the one referred to as the item "D, Blanket" on the parts page included with the machine. Next the "item E, feed dog".

Also, what thread and needle size would be used for poly webbing for dog leashes and collars? I know it's a 7x3, but not sure of the size.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

      Hello Jeff,

No,since it has the walking foot & needle feed you don't need that feed dog.You probably could use #  138 & a #23 or 24 needle, what's nice about webbing  most people use a size or 2 larger than what you'd use for leather because the hole closes up & you'll break less needles that way.

  3. I don't know where else to make people aware of this, but there is a "new member" that has started a thread with bogus links, and  smells a lot like a phishing attack. I've reported the post. It includes an obvious link to what is supposed to be YouTube, but it's mis-spelled and there is a link to an image, which is also suspect.

Is there somewhere  I can alert others to this type of bogus stuff?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

It was posted in the Marketplace, which is the correct place for it. It's not gone, just hidden. I thought it was legit, just a bad link. Mike, give me the link you want and I'll fix it. ~J
