  1. I had a go at doing a tote bag for my goddaughter I then decided to do one for her 18 month old as she was trying to carry her mothers but obviously couldn't
  2. Thanks everyone, I've still got a huge amount of stuff to learn but it's very encouraging to receive those comments.
  3. This may or may not be of some use to you but all of the following are done with Le Prevo’s 1.8mm shoulder with the exception of the bifolds the outer is 1.8mm the inners are with le Prevo’s veg Tan Goat. All except one dyed with Feibings dyes
  4. Thanks, if I remember correctly that wallet was done with 3.85mm 4z pricking irons (7spi)
  5. Thanks, yes the wild deerskin is from a UK company A.A. Crack it is labelled as "Wild Deerskin - Rustic Tan 1.4 - 1.6mm but the piece I used for this is a little thicker at 1.8mm
  6. Hi Mark all my stuff is hand cut as I just do this as a hobby so I don't need a press and dies.
  7. Thanks, if I remember correctly this was done with my 4z pricking irons 3.85mm (put "4z pricking irons aliexpress" into google to find them) and .55mm Yue Fung waxed linen thread.
  8. A few of my recent projects. https://i.imgur.com/52mzmCW.jpg[/img

  10. Thanks, I'd say it is a medium temper it's approx 1.8mm thick.
  11. I've been playing around with a new design for a passport wallet today so I tried it out with this rustic tan wild deerskin.
  12. Thanks, yes the dopp bag is African Kudu I bought it from aa crack in the UK.
  13. A small selection of some of my recent projects with African Kudu horween and wild deerskin.
  14. Thanks, that’s the natural finish of the kudu. It’s very soft so the turning was considerably easier than I thought it would be.
  15. I just did a search on YouTube for dopp bag and watched a couple of videos on there and made a pattern based on what I saw on there. One of the videos used a fabric lining so used that for ideas. https://youtu.be/uBR5VHiDeFc
  16. A few firsts with this one my first Dopp bag, first go at using a zip, first turned bag and first go at adding a fabric lining. Bag is done with African Kudu and natural veg tan.
  17. I've just checked my order history on the Giardini site and looks like I've got some of the 1058 if you want I can send you some to try out just message me an address and I'll send some.
  18. I've had 3 orders from Gardini in june and july 2018 and I don't have a vat number I cant remember them asking for one maybe if they did I would have just ignored it.
  19. Thanks, the straps at the top of the gusset is something I copied from some other bags I’ve seen (bag review). The intention is to prevent the stitching at the top from being unduly stretched if the bag is overfilled. Not sure how practical it is but I thought I’d try it out seeing as I’m just learning how to do bags.
  20. Thanks, It's 2.5mm veg tan that I dyed with feibings spirit dye then conditioned with Sedgwick leather conditioner. The flesh side it treated with tan kote.
  21. Some photos of my 3rd go at making a bag, I still need to do a strap for it though. I did make one but I wasn't happy with the quality of the leather strap blank I got from ebay!! so I've just bought some better leather to do another. I began this ages ago but I kept putting off doing it as I have limited work space and limited time so I kept doing smaller projects instead. I recently bought some Horween leather that I want to use for a bag but I decided I couldn't begin that till I had finished this one which helped to motivate me to finish. The bag was done to fit my old 15" laptop so its quite a big bag, my next one will probably be for a smaller laptop. Leather is hand dyed veg tan, fiebing british tan and medium brown. stitched with tiger thread (.6mm) I'd have preferred to have used some some of my current favourite thread yue fung waxed linen but I actually started this bag about 6 months ago which was before I discovered yue fung so I had to continue with the tiger thread. Hopefully my next one won't take so long to do
  22. Sorry I’ve checked but I don’t have any receipts .
  23. I've just checked their now closed Etsy shop and according to that they are based in Abergavenny, Wales
  24. As far as I know they are UK based as I've probably ordered from them about 5/6 times now and they have always delivered to me in UK in about 2 days. I've mainly been ordering Yue Fung threads but I recently ordered their brass utility knife with D2 steel blade and I am extremely happy with it, I prefer it to my Indispensable knife much more comfortable in my hand and the blade is excellent quality too way better than the Tina blades I have for my Indispensable.
