  1. I run a thin kerf finishing blade, freud. It cuts it without any fuzzies, and takes no time, plus , that's how I tend to cut wood anyway ,to avoid a messy cut
  2. Nice idea!!! I never come close to writing what I am actually thinking
  3. Thanks, I might have to try alot harder Yes, I did look, and could not find what I was looking for.
  4. Went online and searched under various quarries and was unable to find any weather belt blank that was ready to tool for stain and perhaps put some holes in for the size adjustment But that was what I was looking for and was unable to find it, all I did find is cheap leather a low-quality or a product that simply didn't mention the weight at all. So to be clear, I'm looking for a full grain natural cowhide belt blank that is 44" long and 1 1/2 inches wide This will be my first belt or leather project so I would like to start out with a blank that has the tongue cut out as well as the snaps put on and probably will buy a couple of straps or collars that hold the belt in place, just to make it as easy as possible To just focus on a few skills to develop for my first couple of belts. I would like the leather to be veg tanned leather thank you all in advance
  5. In my defense, I can't use my thumbs or wrists well enough to grab a knife or manual cutter and I dont have any cutting dies for my 12 ton press
  6. Are the more expensive rotary cutters capable of cutting the thick veg tan leather?
  7. Tried this last night, and it looked good to me. Took a 10 by 10 approx and sandwiched in between two pieces of plywood and I clamped the plywood down on the by sliding compound miter saw and very slowly started scoring the top and cutting through little by little until I got all the way to the bottom. I opened the two pieces up and I had a beautifully cut piece of leather that was clean and squarely cut
  8. What are you pros out there think of the better brands of elec rotary cutters maybe between 2-400.00 for a nice cutter.
  9. Newbie here, What is the best brand of rotary cutters out there to cut mostly straight cuts on thick veg tan on leather that I plan on using to make belts and knife sheaths? thanks in advance
  10. I want to make knife sheaths and welding chaps. Gotta find easiest way to cut straight and curved that is gentle on hands. Heavy leather , veg tanned for stamping. How does the electric rotary cutters work?
  11. Greetings, Could someone please enlighten me as to the easiest way to cut leather to your exact size, for arthritic hands, fingers and wrists. Electric rotary cutters or something like a table saw or sliding compund saw for leather. Perhaps even a gullotine style cutter heavy enough for leather. Thanks in advance
  12. Thanks Mike for editing the vid. Apple programmers can be " sloppy" , in my uneducated opinion. They can't even get siri down. I will just go to you tube. I only have an Iphone, which is registered under my wife's name.
  13. Thanks for your reply, the link that you provided does not seem to be working or Woodley's not on my iPhone Thanks
