  6. Welcome from Florida. I have Lived in Bury St. Edmunds, Wethderden and Drinkstone all in Suffolk. Loved my time there. I have good memories of "The Nutshell" the smallest pub in England.
  7. Thanks for the answers. That was about what I expected. Off to ace hardware to see what the biggest hole punch they have is.
  8. Just a quick question. I am getting ready to make a stacked leather handle for a knife. What thickness would be a good leather to use?
  9. Does any know where I can find a S&W SD 9 blue gun. Or have dimensions of one so I could make a wooden model to finish a holster for a neighbor?
  10. Just a quick question is there a welt in the sheath?
  11. Other than just a lot of practice what is the easiest way to get good clean cuts on leather? Mine always seems to get "Wavey".
  12. What max thickness will a 227R sew
  13. I am making a holster for the Smith, and have a dummy for the 320. I was hoping to use it for my mold. Thanks pastor Bob. I really do appreciate that.
  14. Does any one know how close in size a S&W SD9 is to a Sig 320?
  15. I suggest getting the Al Stohlman book. The patterns are great, and the book has a lot of great tips. I am working on one now
  16. Actually I was planning on driving to pick it up in Toledo. I was planning on visiting my sister in far Northern Alabama and figured that was probably about 1/2 way and I would stay there both up and back. I am in east central Florida. I haven't seen my sister since the COVID crap started, and thought it would be a good chance to visit. I am leaning more and more toward the cowboy machine.
  17. Probably around March of 2023 I am going to be buying a new sewing machine. I have it narrowed down to either a cowboy 4500, or a techsew 5100 SE. Looking for opinions for each. Any help would be appreciated. I am currently sewing on a Techsew 3650 HD I bought used, and got a really good deal on. I am leaning towards the cowboy since I live in Florida, I could drive to pick up the machine in my pick up truck. Sew mostly holsters and knife sheathes, most are too thick for my 3650.
  18. I Have a Techsew 3650 HD that is working pretty well, bit I am having a problem with the attached bobbin winder. It winds fine, but the thread will not go onto the bobbin in the back and forth pattern. I have to manually move the thread, so the bobbin never fills evenly. I have tried moving the arm up and down, but no help. Any other suggestions?
  19. I have a Techsew 3650 HD and it has worked really well up until about a week ago. The bobbin ran out, and I refilled the bobbin and reinstalled it, several different ways. The machine was doing good until then. Now the machine will not feed the leather. The feed dogs go up and down, but will not go forward. Any one got any suggestions?
  20. Thinking about a new sewing machine. I have narrowed it down to either a Cowboy 4500, or a Techsew 5100. I currently have a Techsew 3650 HD, and it is a good machine but it will only do up to approximately 3/8 inch thick. I really want to be able to sew up to almost an inch. I do mostly holsters and knife sheathes, so the extra thickness will definitely make it go easier on my old arthritic hands. Any one got pros and cons on both machines?
  21. Having been a friend of Bill for over 17 years now I would really appreciate it if you could tell me where you got your stamp. Thanks in advance.
  22. I would be interested in the 66, and the glock 19
  23. I am building Tom Threepersons holster from the Will Ghormley 1911 100th anniversary holster pack. His pattern does not include a safety strap. The Pictures I have seen of the early holsters do not have a safety strap, but all the ones I see available to day do. so my question is Should I put a strap on it or not?
