  1. Yeah, the process did gum up the needles, so what I did was I used denatured alcohol to clean it off every few minutes. That should solve your problem
  2. Hey, thanks for the reply. I posted a comment on the video that should address your question
  3. Hey guys, as was requested, I've uploaded a video on using zippers in your leatherwork on my YouTube Channel. Unlike some of my other videos, in this one I walk through exactly what I'm doing for you to follow along. So, if you're at all interested in using zippers in any of your leatherwork, I would highly recommend you check out the video here.
  4. It's a fun little project to work out your skills, and I wasn't trying to make something amazing, just trying to show that this could be done. I'm not claiming to be an expert on this.
  5. Hey guys, recently I challenged myself to making a leather card holder in under 30 minutes, and the picture you see is the result. It's fairly standard, but I think for 30 minutes worth of work, the end result is pretty good. If this interests you, you can check out the video of me making it here, on my YouTube Channel. Anyway, let me know what you guys think!
  6. Using dyes in your leatherwork is really important. I've often found that it's the difference between a mediocre project, and a good project. Despite this, I haven't really seen a good explanation about dyes and using them in your leatherwork. That's why I just made a quick crash course video on using dyes in your leatherwork, which you can find here. I hope you guys enjoy it, and as usual, let me know what you think.
  7. Hey guys, thanks for the responses. A zipper video sounds awesome, so I’ve ordered the zippers and other supplies & I’ll have the video up next week.
  8. As you may know, I operate a Youtube Channel dedicated to leatherwork, and twice a week I upload a video of my latest projects. So, I wanted to post here and ask you guys for suggestions for upcoming videos, meaning, what do you want to see me make next in my videos? If there’s something, anything, you want to see - please reply. I’m trying to make this channel make content that interests you guys, so I’d really appreciate your input.
  9. Thanks man, glad you liked it. And yes, you’re absolutely right
  10. Hey guys, I’m not sure about you, but when I started leatherworking, I wasn’t glueing correctly. Although it did the job, what I was doing was often sub-par, and my projects weren’t as good because of it. So, I made a video on proper gluing technique, with stuff I wish I knew when I started. You can check it out here, and as usual, let me know what you guys think.
  11. Hey guys, I wanted to post about a topic I haven't really seen anywhere else, and that is aging your leather. Aging your leather is something that isn't really talked about at all, but it really should be: it gives your leather an incredible texture and color that you can't get with dye, and makes whatever you create with it so much better, and I really think it can make your projects better. Anyway, I wanted to show you guys how it's done, and show you an example of leather I've aged for a year, so I made a quick video on my channel about this, which you can check out here if you're interested.
  12. Hey guys, as I've been peeking around the forum, I've seen that there's some confusion with regards to cutting your leather. For example, when to use an exacto knife, vs. a head knife, etc. I think proper leather cutting is very important to your leatherwork, so I made a quick video on my YouTube Channel about the basic fundamentals: when to use what tool, as well as the use of templates to cut your leather, the use of a scratch awl, and more. So, if you are interested, you can check that out here. As always, let me know what you guys think.
  13. Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback. I'll be sure to make more quick tips videos similar to this one.
  14. Hey guys, if you're interested in learning about using sandpaper in your leatherwork, I just uploaded an in-depth video about it on my YouTube Channel, so click here if you're interested. I really want to know what you guys think, so if you watched the video, please leave a comment with your thoughts. If you don't have the time to watch the video, basically, I go over how sandpaper is useful for 4 main things: cleaning up your edges, shaping your edges, smoothing out the back side of your leather, and fixing dying mistakes you have made on your leather.
  15. Here's a sheath I made for my knife. The patterns you see on the knife were done all by hand. If you want to see how I did it, click here. You can also check out my channel where I do all kinds of different leatherworking if you're interested. Let me know what you think!
  16. This was a rather simple thing to make, but I think it turned out really well, and I've actually found it to be really useful. If you want to know how to do this, click here to check out the video of me making it. Anyway, let me know what you guys think!
