  1. The good news is the holster is beautifully done. Yes, the grip is a little covered-up.
  2. Very nicely done. Not sure how that inside retaining string is going to work over time. I can imagine it falling down inside the pouch and the barrel getting wrapped around it on re-holstering or some other calamity. You might give that one some thought. I've learned there are some wheels that should not be reinvented. Just my dos centavos.
  3. You did Mr. Stohlman proud! I am familiar with the design very unique skirting, I like it. Your hand stitching is well done. If you get a sewing machine whatever you do don't stop hand sewing your gunleather. Use the machine for other stuff, well done hand sewn saddle stitched gunleather is in demand. Your carving is very good too.
  4. Very nicely done nothing as satisfying as making something as a gift I am sure your Marine will treasure these. Semper Fi Regis
  5. Beautifully done! Your tooling is flawless and a great design.
  6. Very intricate leather work and the different type hides make it very unique. Beautiful!
  7. Good looking seat I really like the look you accomplished with your coloring technique. Very nicely done!
  8. Very nicely done! I suspect there are an extremely small percentage of leather workers who can demand and receive the appropriate prices for their leather carving. However, for those of us who do not fall into that category, it remains a passion and we continually strive to improve. Keep on keeping on!
  9. noobleather; Thank you! This one is for a Colt 1911 Government model semi-auto 45 caliber. Of course there are many other makes of the 1911 on the market today and many of them would fit this holster design very well.
  10. Double Daddy; Thank you for those very nice remarks very much appreciated.

  14. This is the same gun rig design as the last one I posted with a different western floral design. This floral design comes from Al Stohlman's book, Belts Galore, it is the Wild Rose. The gun belt is from Will Ghormley's Old West Collection (cartridge belts patterns) . If you have never used Will's patterns for holsters or gun belts they are very well done. The belt is crafted from 9/10 oz. leather, the holster is 7/8 oz. lined with 4/5 oz. , the clip pouches are three layers of 7/8 oz. One layer makes the front, one layer makes the back and a second back layer is for the slotted belt loop. All the leather is Hermann Oak.
  15. Beautifully done! I like everything about it.
  16. WOW! Great work! Very creative! If I were you I would stay with whomever is doing your leather carving now they are very good at it.
  17. I belong to this group. My favorite is cutting out holster lining backwards, after studying the situation, not once twice in a row, Just a couple of days ago.
