  1. I changed the grips and tried the fit in my cowboy rig and I think since it's just for transport I am going to use this since I am wearing my cowboy hat shooting why not the holster as well
  2. I shot my first match last fall with my 10/22 and got hooked it was the last match of the year before the snow shut us down. We had one rimfire match at our club but they are run a little different and can be set up in one bay and shot just by moving the steel between stages. It's something we have at our club to get new shooters into steel and shooting in general.
  3. Thanks That helps a lot thanks we just had our first match it was yesterday it was only 4 stages we still have snow, and got snow yesterday, I didn't go I am having tendon issues in my hand and trying to get them healed up before things really open up here in a month or so. I can still shoot my 10/22 and mklv but I really want to shoot my mew 617. So the 617 is not started from a the holster it's the same as the other rimfire and not other revolvers or center fires? So technically you don't need a holster it's just easier to carry between stages.
  4. Nice holster I just came here looking for this exact thing for my new 617. I have a few questions. How thick is the welt one the bottom and can you post a picture of the back to show the belt loop? I have made all my cowboy leather so I want to make this one for steel challenge as it all new to me. Here is my main cowboy holster I could see if it fit in this and use it but I think the trigger will be exposed LOL
  5. Thanks folks it was brought in for a local hockey team but when it got here they didn't want it and my wife was in the sewing store buying an embroidery machine yesterday and and we ended up getting his and her machines. I had been looking at the Chinese cobbler machines on eBay but this one has a motor and it was local and I could get the store owner to demo it on my leather before I bought it even though it was a lot more then the ebay models.....
  6. I just got this machine and I can not find any inf on it. It will sew two layers of 8oz with no issues and that is the reason I got it. It is very similar to the old Singer 29's does anyone have any info one these here? Thanks
  7. There is no stitching on the inside the holster is lined so it will not wear.
  8. Thanks My wife is Metis so she does the beading and I was looking at her work and trying to incorporate it into the my leather work and this is what I came up with. I picked a Crocus because it always was one of the first flowers to bloom in the spring where I grew up.
  9. I made this on back in the spring and have been thinking about making a new full rig for cowboy action
