    I want to restore a Singer 111W153

Very nice! I want to see it sewing
  2. My question is about distance between needles. I assume it's fixed. I read in topic nearby about some machine with 14mm between needles. Out of curiosity I pulled PFAFF 1246 web page but the number is not anywhere. Not in manual. Now on web page. Is it possible it's adjustable? So, what IS the standard distance for let's say automotive upholstery? And is it easy to change it on let's say Singer 111 variants of twin-needle machine?
  3. Wow. Gauge set is 3x+ of machine cost 1) 138SET, 5/16” or 3/8” gauge complete gauge set for Singer 138 Walking foot $675 each For individual parts minus the feet: 1) 264102, 5/16” or 3/8” throat plate S138 $163 each 1) 264018, 5/16” or 3/8” feed dog S138 $116 each 1) 237181, 5/16” or 3/8” needle clamp/bar S138 $225 each
  4. Been awhile, I'm back to working on my project. I had PFAFF 1245 and got this like new 206RB. Decided that I like it so much that I will let CL to decide. I put them both for sale and PFAFF was sold. So now this Consew is my main machine. Questions I have: 1. What is this lift mechanism you see on picture? How do I make it work? Looks like I miss some kind of table attached accessory? I can live without, but what does it look like, maybe I should get it. 2. I want to get edge guide. Do those 2 holes next to thread guide with felt work for mounting those? I'm thinking about flip down kind. Any suggestions for what to get? 3. Needle positioner. I don't have appropriate OD on pulley/shaft to mount positioner. And I don't have anything on a body to screw L-shaped keeper into. Anybody got picture with needle positioner mounted on 206RB? Thank you!

    Couple consew 206RB questions

Thats a question. WHERE to mount lift on a table? Is dimension (shaft aligns with motor bolts) accurate? I prefer not to drill table many times if possible..

    Couple consew 206RB questions

Wiz, all 3 pics different. I'm trying to understand in what position shaft have to be in relation to beak.

    Couple consew 206RB questions

Ok, video helped. Now I know that shaft need to be on a same line with 2 motor bolts. Do I understand correctly that it should touch "beak" like on a picture? What position should I target for?

    Couple consew 206RB questions

Mike, I kind of understand that, I just wasn't sure how precise "beak" and "bar" have to be positioned because of sizes and fact that machine can move a little from back to front. Main thing - you confirmed that this combo should work. I don't have to see how bar contacts "beak", but if you can post picture of lifter when machine tilted back - that would help a lot, I just want to understand how it's oriented once installed. No need to remove tray for that, no need to show contact of beak. Just picture of opening from a top. BTW, my tray is 3in deep (tray itself), so holes will have to be made in order to install it. I will have to remove tray, install lifter, then measure where holes will be. I was making new tray for another machine and made it 2in deep to clear lifter if needed.

    Couple consew 206RB questions

Does anybody have a picture on how this knee lift (I got it) should press on this mechanism I got? I found videos and pictures but none show this exact mechanism like I got. I'm not even sure it's a correct combo as this place on machine is like 1/8 of inch thick, how should lifter on a picture push on it? Also what is the role of "stopper" ? It's another thingy on a shaft
  10. Don’t want to deal with router if possible Table I found: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F223458310179 Machine I have is older Singer 138 post bed and bed measures about 20 3/8 Would it work? I assume those sizes should be somewhat standard, but 5/8 seem to be too big of a gap They say it fits Singer 112, I wouldn’t think beds 1/2 or less different?
  11. Had to glue in fillers and then do some routing but now all is well. Machine finally got "home". Now new problem - consew motor came with 2-piece rod which is short for normal height table!
  12. Machine is on a table finally. Did surface cleaning and lube. Now I see some things. 1. Machine is not used that much. All internals look good, no excessive screwdriver marks 2. Machine out of time. Both front feet and needle bar hitting about 3/8 in front of feed dog. Need adjustment. I wanted to take out feed dog but couldn't. Seems like I need to take at least left bobbin out, blue arrow shows where it's at. Right now my plan is to get it adjusted/running. Once I see it working - I will be trying to source parts for gauge change. It is 1/2 inch right now. I need 5/16 preferably or 3/8 Pictures show feet and throat plate/feed dog. Any clue on what they look like?

    Couple consew 206RB questions

Picture doesn't show it. It's headless bolts, black not clear in picture. Front one almost flush, rear one about 1/16-1/32 deep.

    Couple consew 206RB questions

My pan is just a piece of aluminum sheet that I made myself, yes it's just to catch oil drips. It's probably 4 inch deep, this knee lift probably won't fit "under". May have to make holes on front/back and put shaft inside.

    Couple consew 206RB questions

Ok, I see. Holes on a back already have bolts in them, can't use. Front 2 holes might work, will have to think about it. As for knee lift looks like I need something like this. However, I'm not sure how this going to work since I got u-shaped metal pan covering bottom...

    Couple consew 206RB questions

See pics, #1 - I don't think anything missing. Linkage is there. I just need something that pushed from a bottom looks like. #2 - See back of machine, no additional holes. Can you remember what bracket? Really don't want to drill it if possible.
  17. I guess I was too quick judging by eBay pictures. Cutout size is correct, but mountings for old style hinges
  18. Thank you! Looks like I need to get it running on a table first. Then I will start looking around for a set. Maybe it's not working at all
  19. So, I got this skiver and it needs TLC. From what I can tell after watching cechaflo videos on YouTube - it's missing some pieces. A. Right belts cover, B. Spring on arm which moves roller. Not sure what the purpose of it yet. I also figured this is kind that feeds and rotates blade at the same time, no separate drive. I can adjust speed by moving belt between 3 different positions. Questions to public: Does anybody know this model of skiver? It's labeled privately or was it a big company? I assume it's clone of Fortuna, but which model? Does anybody know where to buy parts? I need small belt on right and I need that tiny belt which drives sharpener wheel. I may reuse old one, but if they are available I'd rather get a replacement. Is there manuals/service manuals available? Does this paint look original? It's flaking opening up gray/red under paint. It seems like it was painted over but long time ago, did they come with painted knobs? Any general advice on cleaning surface rust and making all knobs/handles look great?
  20. Bob, Do you have round ones or maybe you have another solution to use those rectangular new style cutout?
  21. Yes, but those are not the same that you have (and I need) on you 112 table. Those fit regular machines with "holes" in bed. What you have in 112 has wider slot and 2 screws, they are different
  22. Anybody knows were do I get those table pieces for hinges? What is the name? Ideally I need something to go into rectangular cutouts, but I can make those originals work too. Will have to glue in blocks and route correct openings.. None of those will work..
  23. Hmm. I have old 206RB (no number) and I don't have anything like that. I just have some felts over shaft. I don't think my machine missing parts, but I'm curious if I can/should retrofit? Was this done to aleviate some specific issue with design or it's just to cut on lubing points count?
  24. Thank you! Ordered table, will see how it works
  25. Ok, it looks like 3 1/4 to center of first mount, 12 for the second mount pretty much spot on. Looks right? But it's closer to 20 1/4 total length of bed. Does your Singer 112 look the same? And what kind of rubber mounts you have? I only dealt with machines where they have holes in bed, not those metal plate hooks
