your correct about the BC it's an EC but there's no mistaking the 29K15 I gently removed the paint with a scalpel it's as clear as daylight

now I'm confused my 29K15 ser. no. is R1022565 yet the column for machine class says it' a 15K the 29K60 no. BC673373 yet the column tells me it's a 15 is it possible they were made in 1902 and 1904 I thought they were much younger

Thanks, mine has a hole underneath the bulge I'll try that first I have 2 29K's a 29K15 and a 29K60 I've been trying to find out roughly how old they are is there a link to an an archive or some thing that tells you what years the different models were produced from?

I need to change the thread tension plates on my 29K 15 but I can't work out how the plate with the holes doesn't seem to want lift up high enough to get the plates out What am I missing?

I'd look for a local company that sharpens industrial circular saw blades the high speed steel ones are what you need Ask them what they do with there scrap ones Conrad

I'd like to have a go at making one of these. How is the base sewn in? Also can you laminate the sides to get a smooth inner and outer? Cheers Conrad

A friend has just offered me a 15K 80 machine in a case free if I can use it. The machine was made on the 12th June 1956 and has an electric motor. Would this machine be able to sew the light leather right upto were my 331K5 can take over? any help with this is much appreciated Conrad

Hi Constabulry, I've downloaded and printed the 31K19/47 manual it looks like what I need "Thanks" Do you know what colour the paint is? this machine came covered in rust it turns over freely and what I've researched the timing seems to be Ok Many thanks Conrad

Hi thanks for the update that's why I asked the question before I did any thing I know how much olive oil darkens leather I'd rather look like an idiot asking to many questions than do it all twice

Hi and welcome, I've just started as well there are some things on Amazon that aren't to bad there leather knives that cut straight out of the box I've been getting my leather from JT Batchelors they have quite a range of stock they don't have a website the shop is worth a visit if your near London they have a scrap bin you can root through at £2 a Kg you've just got a lot of choice of different leathers to learn on cheaply P.M. me I'll send you the contact details
