Hi All, I have had some issues with the dye/finish process I have been using, and would really like some advice if possible.
I am working on some leather sports 'sneakers' - using the Fiebings Leather Dye (USMC Black), followed by 2/3 coats of Fiebings Acrylic resolene. So far the finish does not withstand much use on the product before wearing off - used primarily in dry weather conditions.
My main question is, would I be better using an alternative to the resolene or is there something wrong with my process? is there anything recommended that would help to 'waterproof' the leather better as well?
