  1. I have a friend who wishes to sell his Tippman Boss sewing machine. This unit is the older cast iron version and was just re-furbished by Tippman. Contact: Jon Graham at Graham Custom Knives 423-715-7391
  2. Jess, In answer to your question about the Boss machine....all I can say is save your money and get one of the Juki 441 clones...Ferdco Pro 2000, Cobra Class 4, etc. I know they are expensive but you will end up saving money in the long run. When I bought my Boss it took me over two weeks to master it...and it always had problems keeping tension, stitch length kept changing etc. IMHO it's a boat anchor
  3. Jaymack, Tandy Leather Factory has a pattern pack for rifle scabbards, as does Will Ghormley (www. willghormly_maker.com)
  4. AC, Weaver Leather, sells punches up to 2" but they are expensive...called Master Tools and the entire set is in the $500.00 range. I buy them one or two at a time...also, I usually cut the slots before I put the front and rear sections together...when I glue them I align the slots for a good fit then I adjust the outer main seam.(sand it or trim it down)..then stitch. remember the front panel of the holster is approx. 1/2" larger than the back panel...allows for a better fit. If you are lining...always allow at least 1/8" for the thickness of the lining..with this type holstewr the adjustment can be done by relocating and adjusting the stitch lines ...as far as the width of the belt slot....3/8 is kind of wide...I use 3/16" to 1/4" width for the belt slots
  5. AC, Wow...that was fast. The holster looks really good...one thing you should try and work on is the belt slots...they don't have to be that wide and should be boned as smooth as possible...your right practice makes perfect....it will come with time. Also, try an re-inforce the rear thumb snap strap (at the snap). I think the holster is really great. Outrider
  6. Dalton,

I will send you something for the North American arms..I just finished four little pocket holsters for them

P.S. In leu of the prblems encounterd on the CAS city forum I will most probably not be in there much anymore..It's getting too political and one sided...you can get me here from now on

  7. Trooper, You can find all the necessary cavalry acoutraments (including the specs for the military saddle bags) in the Ordnance Manual No. 29. Go to David Carrico's website.(Carrico Leather)..he sells copies of the ordnance manual
  8. Sixer, Try mixing 3 parts Saddle Tan to one part Med. Brown. The result is a very rich looking brwn color...I have used this combo on many projects and really like the color. It bwas recommended to me by Don 101 from Germany...he uses it also.
  9. Larry, Very well done...I have always wanted to make a Tom Threepersons. I have the pattern but just have not had the time. I would also like to do a "Lone Wolf" Gonzales holster as well....S.D Meyers did the originals but El Paso bought out Meyers and continued to make them...they have a classy style...don't you think?
  10. If this is a "New Model Vaquero" it has the same basic dimensions as the Colt SAA. you can get a plastic blue gun of the Colt 5 1/2" from Ring's in Florida. Blue Guns.com...call and ask for a hard copy catalog as the Colt is not shown on their website. it molds up great and costs about $45.00
  11. Hatley is correct...they are "T" nuts..you can get them at Lowes, Home Depot, or local hardware store. I use two sizes 6/32" and 8/32" (same thread size as Chicago Screws). If you have a local bolt supplier you also get them by the 100 count for far less than you pay at the box stores.
  12. CB, Looking good my friend...Did you get the pattern for the "pancake" yet?
  13. I am totally confused as to how to list my information on your business directory is there instructions as to how to list?d Name: Rich Leonard UserName: tennoutrider IP Address: 66.18.41.195 Email Address: outrider@charter.net
