  10. I will be teaching SADDLE CONSTRUCTION design and patterning, using concepts that can be applied to other areas of construction--- including holsters, knife sheaths, saddle bags, rifle scabbards, and various cases. There are only a few seats left for both classes; however there are several openings for just the first day. Day 1 is Lecture and Demonstration. I will teach you how to take a sketch of your concept / idea and translate it to a functional design, and then to usable patterns. If you can only attend the first day, you will still go away with all of the hand-outs, notes, and a plan and method. You should be able to go home and create your own patterns after only taking this class. Day 2 is Application---I will help you make your own patterns for your own tree. You will go home with patterns! Call me with questions. 307-272-1881. http://www.leathercraftersjournal.com/product.cfm?product=851 http://www.leathercraftersjournal.com/product.cfm?product=852
  11. Hi fellow Leather Crafters! I live in Los Angeles and since this is a major fashion hub I am thinking of starting a leather craft school. I have a passion for teaching and obviously for leather craft, but was wondering if anyone has experience on whether this is profitable and feasible? I'm thinking that because of my location, I can do it but looking for feedback or experience from those have done this or are currently offering classes. Thoughts?
  12. Hello all, The class schedule for the Rocky Mountain Leather Trade show has been posted on the Leather Crafter's and Saddler's Journal website. The dates for the trade show are May 20th-21st-22nd, 2016, with the classes starting on May 16th. You can get class descriptions and other information by going to: www.leathercraftersjournal.com/sheridan2016.html
  13. Hi everyone, I have recently retired and I am interested in learning about leather working. Tandy runs a series of classes 4 Saturdays for 2 hours each for beginners. Has anyone ever taken these and if so should I enrol. The classes are about a one hour drive, which is one of the reasons I am asking. Thanks
  14. I have been searching for any braiding classes in or around North Carolina and unfortunately an internet search has not been of much help. Tandy in Chicago, a site in Texas and a few even futher have offerings, but the wife prefers that I try and stay a little closer to home. Being a hands-on learner, I wanted to see if anyone knows of anyone that offers any hands-on classes to get me going on the right foot. Thanks for any help.
