Here is an arrow side quiver I made to be raffled off at the United Bowhunters of Missouri Rendezvous that was held last weekend. The body and strap are made from chrome-tanned bison leather and the tan trim is deer. The orange looking leather is caiman as is the black arrowhead. The lettering was done in ring lizard and the scaled leather is tanned carp hide. I carved the buttons from deer antler and the hanging ring from moose antler. Everything was sewn by hand using artificial sinew. This archery arm guard was commissioned by a friend of mine as a birthday present for a hunting buddy of his. It is ostrich leg skin backed with vegetable-tanned cowhide. The trim is deer and I carved the lace hooks from deer antler. Everything was sewn by hand using B-50 bow string material. This is an arm guard that I made for myself. My other arm guard wasn't worn out or anything but I get a hankering for something new every once in a while. I made this one from caiman and backed it with vegetable-tanned cowhide. The arrowhead in the middle is made from ring lizard. The trim is deer and the lace hooks are deer antler. I sewed this one up using artificial sinew. Darren

Hello All. Its been a little while since I posted any projects. Here is an Inside Waist Band (IWB) holster I just finished up that has shark skin accent on the belt loops. The credit for the style of this holster definitely goes to Galco Gunleather. This is my attempt to make an IWB holster similar to one of theirs. I had a heck of a time getting the reinforcement throat wrap figured out and sized right. It does not have any metal or plastic sandwiched between the throat reinforcement wrap and the main holster like some makers use. I am not sure exactly what is used for that. This holster was made from 4-5 ounce leather, hand stitched and wet formed using my kydex press. The kydex press worked pretty good on the thinner leather. Thanks for looking!.......Rory

Hi there, I am looking for someone self employed to work from their own premises to create a series of small leather and exotic skins to be applied to small electronic items with a high degree of skill and flair. I imagine we will start slowly and carefully but demand is expected to be quite high as the items will be advertised in various publications. Looking to find someone immediately, preferably someone used to working with delicate exotic animal skins etc with good supplier contacts to source higher quality materials etc. Please get in touch immediately if you fit the bill!

As a trapper I remove a lot of nuisance beavers around here for farmers. These are corn fed beavers so some get quite large. I've never found a maket for the tails. I've started to learn leather working. Here is my first go at using something that would otherwise be wasted. I tanned the tail and laminated it onto some 2-3 oz leather. The tails go from thick to thin and so you have to adjust thread tension as you stitch around the case. I was not really sure it would even work so this was an experiment.

I am going to make myself a new wallet and want to use this gator hide I just bought. I'd like to use the head area but it will go into the shoulder/leg area of the hide. I may need to use a flatter area, like behind the shoulder. It would make more waste in the long run. Do you think I can glue it flat. I have used rubber cement on a pound-o-board to line things up in the past but I don't know if it will last once it is permanently glued to the backing. What do you guys think. Any and all thoughts welcome. Thanks, Ken

Hello, We are new to this forum and are looking for someone in the Northwest Arkansas area to take our scrap leather and turn them into bi-fold wallets, etc. We have tons of ostrich, buffalo, and lamb hides available. Our hides are all cut down to our book binding size, and hides measure roughly 17" W x 13" H. We compensate for your time and skill. Thanks.

Haven't posted anything for a while, so I thought I would put up a pic of my recent Stingray holster project for a Walther PPQ. I had purchased two beautiful hides months ago and was literally nervous to start cutting on them Anywyay here is the final product... oh, and you can't see it in the pic, but I did full shark skin on the back. Thoughts, critiques, etc. are more than welcome!!
