The machine is practically new . It was briefly used to sew leather pillows and it is in excellent condition. It is an industrial machine suitable for leather, synthetics and heavy upholstery fabric. Included is the original Seiko manual and complete set of accessories including bobbins, needles, oil, screw driver set, set of wrenches, zipper, welting and presser feet. The Family Electric Servo Motor model FESM 550-s, 0-3450 RPM, 110V, 550W installation and operation instructions included. The table with a two spool thread holder is used and in good condition. Just got a hold of a Singer 29-4 (serial # L771630) and the balance wheel is busted (pictured) anyone know where I can find a replacement wheel for a good price? all I have seen is around $70-80 with shipping, wondering if other models will work for this machine hole diameter is 13mm approximately 1/2". Overall wheel diameter is 9 1/4" also wanted to hook it up to a small motor and foot pedal, anyone have any cheaper recomendations?

Hi All, I am looking buying a second hand what appears to be a little-used Wimsew 246. It will be my first venture into an industrial unit. I've been looking for the right 2nd hand machine for some months and this the latest offering in the classifieds. It will be used on a low volume home-based craft manufacturer, making bags, wallets. I want to be able to do top threads and usual stitching. This will range from size #/tkt60 -10, with needle sizes 14/90 - 25/200 (or maybe 24/180 at a push) Can anyone offer a view if this machine will be suitable? Part of the reason I've come on here for advice is that there doesn't seem to be a manual available online. I've contacted Wimsew and they say they only supply one with a new machine which is a little frustrating. I know it's very similar to a Juki 246 (a clone), but I don't know just how similar. A Juki seems to be able to do what I'm after. Given I want to move between these sizes, will the timing of any parts need to be adjusted to move between these sizes? I'm going to take my materials and threads in the next day or so and have a go, but I wonder if anyone has any experience or views. Hello and Thank you excepting me into the Group. I have just acquired a 111W SV14 Industrial Singer sewing Machine. With stand/table and some other accessories. Assorted string, one needle and 6 different size scissors.. The machine was in a garage for 13 years that I know of. I acquired it from a 92 yr old lady who told me it was her husbands father machine. I have since cleaned it and re-oiled and greased it. I am waiting on a new timing belt which should be here tomorrow via USPS. The original one broke while I turned it by hand to make sure it was not locked up. Interesting way they made the timing belt back in the day. Looks to be a nylon string with three heavy wire clips per tooth. The closest machine to mine that I have found researching it is the 111W101. I have reconditioned the table lamp and string base for the spool tree. I have not touch the machine head except for cleaning and re-greasing it. The lacquer paint is chipped and scratched on the head but it is original and definitely shows it was a machine that was well used a lot in it's hay day. I would love to learn more about it. But we all know this SV model and many others have no records available. Would love to share pictures of my project, but Sorry my photos are to big to upload here. they are 2mb each or a little bigger. Thank you again Sam

I am looking for recommendations for grease for the gears under the 3 gearboxes on my Pfaff 145 that I am restoring. What I have found under the bottom two was probably the original, very petrified. I just took off the top gearbox, as I move through the machine. It wasn't as petrified, but it defiantly must be cleaned out and replaced. And yes I have a gallon of Lilly White Sewing Machine Oil for the oil ports. I saw where Uwe recommended tri-flow for the gears, but they make 2 kinds, and I watched the Consew 206 RB video. I would like to know why you use it, which version if the manufacturer makes several different greases, and where you have found it. I live in Central Indiana for reference. Thank you. I finally bought a sewing machine, a Juki 1541s after months of deciding witch one to buy. I was going to buy one from one of the banner ads but didn't want to pay shipping. I found out I live 30min away from Keystone sewing and could pick one up . After a couple emails and a few phone calls to @Gregg From Keystone Sewing helped me pick out a machine that would suit my needs. The level of customer service that this company provides is just not found anymore, Gregg spent over 2 whole hours going over the entire machine with me. I actually felt bad for taking so much of his time up, but he insisted that I was comfortable before I left. When I first got there and walked threw the old wooden doors I was nicely greeted by his mother running the front desk. There shop has an old style vibe with the solid wood floors, the place probably hasn't changed much since the day it opened except all the new machines lining both sides of the store. I told Gregg it reminded me of one of the machine shops I used to work in that had the pulley system on the ceiling. He then asked me if I wanted a tour of the place and his machine shop, of course I did I love this kind of stuff. I wanted some left and right single toe presser feet that were smooth on the bottom, he was actually out of stock so he took some double toe ones and made me some while I was there. I was also interested in a binding attachment so he went over different setups with me for binding attachments. I could go on and on about my whole day there but don't want to bore everyone with the details. Thanks to this forum I found a place I can get great customer service at, I am sure the banner companies provide the same since there always here to help anyone. I am just happy Keystone Sewing is in my own backyard, my next purchase I will be buying a bell skiver from Keystone Sewing and a cylinder machine. Thank you again @Gregg From Keystone Sewing for all your help next Philadelphia Eagles Parade I owe you a beer, hopefully next year. I also practiced sewing with 92 thread and 138 and had no problems at all, was a little nervous on my own but nothing time won't fix.

I have an amazing Juki LU-563 walking foot sewing machine for sale. Heavy and solid cast body, made in Japan. The entire machine was overhauled by Sloan Machinery in New Hampshire about 3 years ago. They replaced the internal parts that had any signs of minor wear, installed a Sew Green Servo Motor, and changed the drive belt. They also mounted it on a good sized, very sturdy table. Mounted beside the machine is an automatic bobbin winder that runs while you sew (it’ll fill a full bobbin before you’ve used half of the one in the machine). You can also wind bobbins when you’re not sewing. The machine has been meticulously maintained and is in excellent condition. It’s always been used and stored in the climate controlled portion of the house. Every time I use it I oil all oil points with the included sewing machine oil (all oil points are marked so you’ll never forget). The Juki LU-563 is a workhorse of a machine. I used it to make leather bags and accessories, sewing up to 3 layers of 4oz leather with ease. I bought it for $1500 and am including a bit over $100 worth of thread, needles and spare bobbins. They run for about $1500 on eBay in similar condition so I’m asking for $1300 cash. I won’t ship, but I’ll gladly meet you around the Hartford, CT area. Hello all! I am here to ask for help narrowing down my choice of leather sewing machine. Please allow me to explain my needs, and also offer the disclaimer that I definitely don't know all of what I'm talking about. My first passion is music, which means I have a lot of time for my second passion, which is leather. I'll make anything anyone asks me to, as long as it is within my abilities. I want to be able to easily make all sorts of garments, everything from pants and shirts to full bodysuits. I already do a lot of saddle stitch for making pet supplies, straps for cameras, wallets, and anything like that. I've even had friends ask me to make leather intimate stuff like corsets and the only reason I said not right now is I don't have a machine for putting together bigger projects like that, and no way am I hand sewing large, complex patterns and designs. I know that a good leatherworker likely will have more than one machine. However, as this is going to be my first real machine, I feel like I should be getting the one that can do the most all around work. I've been researching, asking questions, contacting manufacturers for a long time and have finally narrowed it down to basically one or two models over a few different manufacturers. I also know that everyone might have a different opinion but that most of these machines are on the same level and can't really go wrong with most of them...but still, I like to see what others say. The main piece of advice I have gotten so far is a flatbed compound walking foot machine for light to medium weight material. I mainly use garment leathers and thickness isn't usually much more than a few layers of chap leather, but wouldn't mind being able to sew through thicker, sturdier leather as well. Maybe 2-2.5 oz at most? Here is what I am looking at so far (my price limit is ideally $1500, but I'm reasonably flexible)... Artisan 1797 AB LTHR Consew 206 RB-5 Techsew 1460 OR 1660 (Does anyone know if the 1660 Pro is worth the extra money?) I want to be able to do some things with shape at some point, but know I probably need a cylinder arm machine for that. I have looked at the Artisan 335 B for that option, and briefly spoke to Jerry at Artisan about that machine...would that be a viable option for that "first machine a leather worker should have" because it has the "flatbed worktable" option, which is just a smaller table that sits on the larger table? I already assume I am going to basically get a no on that question. I have been told numerous times to start with a flatbed compound etc.... If there are any other machines that I should be looking at based on what I listed above, I am more than open to suggestions. Also, feel free to ask any more questions that might help decide. Thank you everyone in advance. It kind of seems like all any of the machines I have on my final list are fine choices, but I'd like to hear other people's experiences with any of them. Thanks again! Hi, I am new to sewing machine, I handsewn most of my items, I drove 3 hours to L.A. to find sewing machine that I can afford, because I heard that they can buy under 500 or little over that price for an industrial sewing machine, is there any recommendations? I mostly use 5/6 oz, 8/9 oz, 9/10oz veg tanned leather, I will really appreciate your suggestions. Thank you. -
I just ran across new Consew machine p1206RB it seams to have the same capability as 206RB-5 with the same type of feet but for $950 vs. $1250 for 206RB-5 with the table and servo motor, I like that it has built in bobbin winder. Anybody tried them? Are they OK to work with leather? I found in my area they are sold by Vasey upholstery: http://vupholstery.com/wa/p1206rb.asp , anybody have experience with this guys? I have recently started to work with a Juki 1541. After overhauling the timing and sewing successfully for a few days, the machine broke down mid-stitch. At first, I thought I'd have to reset a safety catch like on my Juki 1541S, but there is no such creature on this machine (the same button is there, but it is just a filler on the chassis - it doesn't connect to anything). Digging around underneath, I found that this little tine with a bump on it is catching in the hook assembly. I can't find anything about this part in the manual, figure out its name, or catch on to its purpose in normal operation yet. Here is a picture: Note: this is not an actual picture of my machine, just one I found online and marked up. Anything you can tell me about this part's name or function will be helpful to me. Also, if the problem sounds familliar and you know how to troubleshoot it, that'd be great. Thanks for the help, Brian -
Hey folks, I'm new to the board here and hopefully I'm not violating forum decorum (hey that rhymed), but I've got a couple industrial sewing machines for sale. Got a Pfaff double needle post bed with roller foot that has a 1/8" gauge and a powerful clutch motor, comes with table, thread stand, and light. Also have a Pfaff double needle flatbed with a 1/4" gauge and a super powerful clutch motor. I bought both of these machines just about 4 months ago, before I learned which machines I really needed for the work that I do, and ended up not using them at all other than to test them out. They're both a few years old but in perfect working order. If you do a search on Ebay for Pfaff post beds (this one is listed there), you'll see that others are much more expensive than mine, and that this is actually an excellent deal at $2,500. Same with the Pfaff double needle flatbed - a steal at $2,000. If you pay for shipping, I'll ship them via a trucking company and it will cost usually between $250 and $300, though obviously I would prefer a central Florida buyer (I'm in Kissimmee, Florida). So I recently came by a Singer 111W155 that was used in a production environment. This is my venture into the world of industrial sewing machines and know very little about them. That being said, I’m pretty excited to get this machine back up and running. It did not come with a table, motor, bobbin winder, pedal, presser foot lever, and I’m sure several other things I’m overlooking. The presser foot lever has been removed and there seems to be some type of compressed air system in place. I’m not sure if there’s a way to manually lift the foot via a screwdriver but I would like to restore that functionality. If possible, add the knee presser lever I’ve seen on a few tables too. I’m guessing getting it cleaned up is the first step. I was thinking I would give it a kerosene bath followed by some copious oiling. Is there a specific oil these old Singer machines like? Then I need to look into a servo motor, table, and all the missing attachments. Looks like there are a few service manuals floating around the internet. Hi there. I've been reading through a lot of the forums discussing various machines and what they're used for . . . and to be honest (and perfectly blunt) I'm so NEW to leather working (and sewing) most of it is just Greek to me. Can you help? I'm very eager to learn. Here's my story: I make leather book covers and simple leather bags from scrap upholstery leather. Totally self-taught. I use a home machine (Brother SE 400) which has served me well for the past 5 or so years. Recently I've begun creating flat-bottom bags that require my machine to sew through about 4 layers of thin leather . . . and my machine is none too happy. I'd also like to branch out and start to use thicker leathers, but that's never been an option with this machine. I'd also like to sew zippers without the fear of dying..but I'm not sure that will ever happen. What I'm looking for: I have about $1,200 to spend (including shipping, handling and all additional things). I'm looking for a new machine. Maybe a 'starter' machine. That's easy to use/learn for a newbie. That will sew thin upholstery leather (let's say four layers of 1.1mm) but also give me the chance to try something thicker for strapping or wallets. Does this exist? Brand names you trust? Where do you buy them? Online? How much does shipping usually run for these large heavy machines? (All the technical talk of bobbin and thread size have my brain wobbling around in my head - I know I need a walking foot machine, but that's really all I know.) Your help is so much appreciated.
