Well, I've been tired of using an inferior edge creaser and can't bring myself to splurge on the Vergez Blanchard model, so I've decided to make my own.... Pretty simple solid brass and beech wood design with a knurled thumb screw for adjustment. Works like a charm.

I am looking for fittings of this sort (as in the image) in brass or so with a range of different letters for a project I am working on Can anyone tell me what these are officially called? Can anyone also give me a good quality manufacturer who can provide these? Lastly, are these actually better in brass as I have assumed? o are they usually made of a different metal for a certain reason? Weight e.t.c. Any help would be amazing!!!

Okay so I'm completely new to any sort of leatherwork, but I've been thinking of doing a project that involves it in honor of my all time favorite movie and need professional advice on the names of hardware that I need as well as how to treat, cut, paint, and sew the leather to fit onto the rods that connect to a metal base that individually pivot so the tail piece can be opened and folded. I attached the screenshot from the movie that I want to replicate as well as a couple of blueprints for how I think I should go about the project. Like I said, I'm an amateur so any professional advice would be appreciated. This is a project I hope to do soon once I have more free time and money on my hands, but also want to stay on a budget while still getting the highest quality stuff possible. I hope to have a life size genuine replica of the tail (4.5 feet) long and opens at about the same length at the longest point of the tail for display at my home to hang on hooks or nails. Also if I somehow pull this off, I want to know how to keep the display looking its best so it lasts a lifetime. Right now, in terms of hardware, I need to know the names of the objects I'm hoping to build the metal framework out of. I want to find a metal flate piece that has holes where I want to attach to the metal hollow rods using some sort of pivot hinge so it moves on horizontal plan to open and close the tail to make it realistic to the one from the movie. Also in terms of the leather, I want to know the best type of leather to get. Looking for the type that isn't too rough while still being flexible and thin so its easy to work with so I can sew the two pieces together once they are cut so that there are slits between the two pieces that will be placed over each of the rods. I need to find the best way to go about painting the leather so that the paint looks roughened while still looking vibrant and want the paint to last as long as possible. I hope my blueprints help explain this a little better and maybe someone with the expertise can guide me in the best way to go about this project.

I own a Singer 45k25. I have been looking for a roller foot and an accessory plate/guide for years. Recently I found a couple on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321636814854?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/221448164280?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT As you can see they are expensive! Is that a good price? I sent the vender an email and they said that are getting the parts from India. Does anyone know where I might be able to find 45K25 parts either domestically or internationally, either new or used? Id be interested to find the supplier in India. Any leads?

Hey there, my name's Lourenço and I have been posting here a few of my things from time to time for about a year now ,but I took new pics of some of my stuff, passport holders, wallets, card sleeves, belts, moleskine covers, etc, and I would like to share with you and know what you think about them. These were taken in my hometown of Porto, which, if you've never heard, you should definitely visit because it's beautiful http://www.europeanbestdestinations.com/top/europe-best-destinations-2014/ ,and the rest were taken in what is called the oldest village in Portugal, Ponte de Lima (Bridge of the Lima, wich is a river there) where I own a property, for some wine produtcion, orange trees, apple trees, etc, it's quite nice and peacefull. I have Instagram; @louraleather , if you want to check it out and maybe follow, it would be a pleasure! Anyway, hope you enjoy! Cheers, Lourenço
