Singer 97/10 for sell. Asking $4000, it is in excellent condition sews great and runs smooth. It comes with several extra needles. I can get more pictures upon request, any questions please ask. Attention gearheads into old Singer sewing machines. I know that most of you are into old industrials, but on the off chance someone is into an old domestic as a winter project to sew bag or wallet linings, here's one: I have a 1940 Singer 15-91 (potted motor) for parts or restoration. I got it to make bags. I never made it that far. The previous owner, as it turns out, put oil where it didn't belong and didn't tell me, so when I ran it for the first time, the wires leading to the motor failed. It's my understanding that this can be fixed, but the sewing machine hospital closest to me doesn't know how to fix it, and I lost interest in playing with it, as I discovered an industrial that will do what I was aiming to do in the first place. The parts are all there. I still have the presser feet, etc. that it came with. $20 bucks to take this thing off of my hands in Chesapeake Va. It's worth it just for the pretty parts and the presser feet. Hi there, i have recently got got my hands on a singer class 7-5 with no information on it and Only part of the manual. I have managed to get it running and sewing but the bottom thread appears too tight in the stitches and I cannot find a tension screw on or around the bobbin casing to loosen it? Could anyone advise on this ? Machine works beautifully otherwise Thanks in advance

Newbie here. I have a Singer 211g266 which I can't seem to get the stitchlength to be longer than 4-5mm. Anyone can point me in the right directions to adjust it? Have read the manual available on supsew. Adjusted the needle bar rock frame and the synchronous feeding. Hook timing seems right, timing belt is aligned. Just read about the adjustment of the eccentrics, does that alter the stitchlength.? Thanks in advance

Hi, new here and new to leather working and heavy machines, minus my old singer 96k. (But been working as seamstress at menswear shop 11years so have a general knowledge of sewing) I have just bought a second hand singer 45k89 but it only came with the one foot. I am wondering if anyone can help me find more feet and possibly a bobbin winder that attaches to the machine body (not the table, if that makes any sense) I have asked a company called college sewing online but they have ignored my message and I’ve scoured eBay and I’m only finding bobbins and cases. So thought I’d ask a forum of people who know! Thanks in advance any help is much appreciated!

Just acquired this singer 111wsv31 looking to find out some history if anybody knows anything. All I can find is by SN# it's pre 1940'. The W is made in Bridgeport, CT and the SV is what some call "special variety" or custom made for customer. From what I can tell this is the predicessor to the 144w201. It's a 20" throat with no reverse. It seems that it takes quite a few normal 111w parts but obviously there's many that aren't. It sews beautifully and has some unique cast iron legs with the singer insignia casted onto them. Anything helps. Probably going to sell if anyone's interested. And I'm sure this being my first post to the site... I'm probably in the wrong spot. Thanks in advance

I recently got a Singer 45k25 machine up and running. Ive got a standard presser foot on it now. Works great. However, Id like to try out a roller foot. Unfortunately, I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone have any leads on where to find one? Could I fit one that is meant to go on another sewing machine? Anyone selling?

Looking at one for medium weight leather - wondering about its ability to handle #69 bonded nylon thread. Looks like max needle size is 16, which should be OK, I think. I've seen it sewing through several layers of webbing, but the thread was a lighter weight. Any advice or insights, folks? Many thanks for your wisdom!

If this needs to be in the "HOW DO I DO THAT" forum Apologies- Im not sure where to put it! Hello guys and gals- hope all are warm and dry-ish if youre caught up in the vortex! Got a question about a machine I am starting to use- Im trying to "learn" techniques and playing with lighter thinner 2-3 oz upholstery leather and upholstery weight canvas. So its not strictly about leather. But so far this forum has been the spot-on resource about everything else Ive done for research and investigation for machines so here goes! So I have a Singer 4411 (Domestic heavy). Like the machine but can NOT figure out the "birds nesting" issues- I will post more today including pictures- but to start: Re-threaded the UPPER side multiple times making sure thread is in the tension springs on the take-up arm and thread path. re-wound the bobbin as well and re-installed it to rotate counter-clockwise (per manual) tried holding tension on the threads when I start adjusted thread tension dial from upper to lower range (on this machine from 5-ish to between 2-3) went UP in tension as well from the 4-5 range to about an 8 (this just broke threads faster) using same thread weight on upper and lower- Coats and Clark extra strong 100% nylon that is "70 TEX" size or 3 ply 15 weight different colors in bobbin and top to see the difference in tensions/nesting using 18 needle size with "diamond tip" and its installed correctly (flat of needle to rear with groove on rear and threaded from front) Problems are: thread breaking in the upper take up arm and needle needle jams and will not advance- when I get needle out its a birds nest of top thread loops What am I doing wrong? (Besides trying to learn to sew!- HA!) Thoughts? Pictures when I can get to the camera later today! -
Howdy, Long time prowler, first time poster. I'm having an issue with my sewing machine. Im runnin' a Singer 111W155 industrial walking-foot machine and for some reason the bottom stitch will bunch. I've add a picture for reference. Is this a problem with my machines timing? Or have I set the tension incorrectly? The top stitch looks fantastic. Also I notice that in the areas where this occurs the machine tends to buck and needs a little extra gusto to take the next step. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Trying to figure out how to adjust the stitch length in a way other than with the manual states. As you can see by the attached photo, that’s just not going to work. If anyone can help me out I sure would appreciate it. -
I am new with this machine, I am having some issues with backside of the stiching and somtimes on the top, other time the top stitch looks great. I am using 210 on the top and 135 in bobbin. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi everyone, I have a Singer 45K58 with the serial number F5760485 (at least that is what it looks like). From http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-f-series-serial-numbers.html the number matches a 45K from early 1914, which is a wee bit confusing as I would have expected its listing to be 45K58 rather than a generic 45K? Also the machine looks more modern than the ones of that era that I have seen, and is finished in hammered blue/green, rather than black. Any help, enlightenment or suggestions welcomed Thank you, Harry

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a singer 132k6 and have gradually been moving through the machine and fixing some minor issues. I'm stuck on how to set the hook-needle gap. At the moment I'm using organ 214 system needles and the hook grazes the needle which I'm sure is the reason I'm dropping stitches. I don't see a lot of room for adjustment of the lateral position of the hook, but I'm sure an adjustment like this must be possible. I see 3 screws on the hook itself which I imagine are used to set the position of the hook relative to the needle travel, but are these also used to set the gap? Has anyone worked with these machines before? Do I need to try a different needle system? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Best, John

Hi all - thanks for welcoming me to your community here. This forum has been an excellent resource on my sewing machine refurbishing projects. Ive recently acquired a Singer 51w 55, it is a post bed machine. I got it from an old timer who used it for years and years doing govt. contract work. It was relatively well maintained but is running pretty rough. This is a machine I really want to do a full refurb on, but am a little nervous as parts are proving difficult to find. I started off with an issue where the stitch length adjustment knob has broken off of the threads to attach it to the handwheel. This was eventually solved with a set of screws just under the top plate. I guess I’m just curious what some recommendations would be to start on this thing, what are the first steps I take to a full clean and refurbish?

Any ideas on how to fix this issue on a singer 7-34? We just replaced the needle and adjusted the tension but it seems like maybe something is going on with the bobbin? Thanks in advance!

So I picked up an old Singer 241-12 off of craigslist with the table and motor I cleaned it up and all it needs it a new check spring for the tensioner and belt. The belt on it was made of leather, I have never seen a motor like this set up below. It's an electric motor that just engages with pressure from the foot pedal. Can anyone give me more info on this motor setup I researched it and came up empty handed. I do plan on replacing it with a servo motor I also know I need high rpms for the oil to flow. I could't pass this up it looked clean and it was only $75. The woman that sold it to me said it was her mothers that just passed, she made a living using the machine as seamstress. Ive been making leather wallets and tool holsters by hand for years. I read here to look for a singer 211. My dreams came true. I purchased a singer 211g166 this weekend for 150.00. It comes with its table. Its old clutch motor has been replaced with a brand new 3/4 horse servo system. Drove 1 1/2 hours each way to get it Ive never used a sewing machine before. Whats the first thing i should do?
