  1. used Singer 11 Class, NOW 10! machines as a lot, as is, various sub classes Click on our website here to view these machines; http://keysew.com/Webpages/DemoImages/Singer11Class.html Asking $4,500USD for the lot of nine, as is, where is. Buyer pays shipping or store pick up. Images of machines represented do not have pedestal stands except for one of them. These machines are at our location, all appear to be complete and have hooks and races. We DO NOT have parts, nor can we in any way support these machines. Thanks for looking.
  2. I have two walking foot industrial machines for sale. Singer 111w155 and 111w153, complete with industrial tables and motors. Both are in perfect working condition, timed, oiled and ready to go. Great for leather, denim, canvas, vinyl upholstery, and more. $600 each, or $1000 for both. I am located in New York, NY. Willing to discuss shipment options if local pickup is not possible. 3. Hi there, I'm in need of some help/advice on my Singer walking foot machine. It did work when I bought it, however it would jam pretty quickly. That's what got me started messing with it. Plus I like to learn how things work and I'm usually pretty good with fixing things. One issue is this is a first for me, so I have no reference point to work from. It could be a little messed up or really messed up and I wouldn't know. I was able to download many Singer instructions etc. But the images are always poor, and again they don't really start you from scratch. I'd like to be able to start at zero and check everything along the way so i don't mess something. That seems logical to me. I have a bunch of videos showing the problems I've had, some of which I did fix, but then something else would go out. The latest issue is that the feet are not working right, they feed the material back and forth not front to back. Also the stitch length is at the largest yet the stitches are tiny. Maybe b/c the feet aren't working right? Any help is appreciated. This is the link to my Youtube videos. https://youtu.be/hTd43J64xmc Alan
  4. Hi, I am just starting to learn how to sew and recently purchased a Singer 29-4 Patcher. I have a few questions: 1. Today I learned that a 29-4 is not the same as a 29K4. Is this accurate? 2. It isn't easy to find replacement parts for the 29-4 vs. the 29K4. Part for the 29K4 are still being manufactured. Is this correct? 3. I haven't sown with my machine yet. I need to purchase Thread. www.horsenhaeness.com recommends #138 thread with #69 for the bobbin. Will be learning to sew jacket patches and thin leather projects. Would anyone else agree with this recommendation? 4. Any recommendations for using the machine would be appreciated. Machine is in good condition. Thank you in advance for your help. Anthony New Jersey
  5. I found this at a antique store don't know what it is, the guy was asking $500. I was going to offer 300, everything seemed to move just needed some tlc. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  6. I have an old Singer 31k15 Machine that was handed down to me from my grandmother. The machine is is good condition and still sews very well. However the clutch motor in it moves way to fast for detailed leather sewing. I'd like to pick up a servo motor for it, but I can't seem to find any solid info on which I should pick up. I've looked at the Techsew 550 motors, but am not sure how well they'll mate up to the machine I have. Anyone have any recommended motors they've used on the 31k15's, including where to get them. What modifications did you have to make to install it? I'm using fairly thick leathers so I'll need something with decent power, and I'd prefer something that can run very slowly with high tq. Any input would be appreciated! Josh
  7. Decided to change some things up here and getting rid of a few machines. With these 3 machine you can cover all of your sewing needs. First up is a Cobra class 3 that includes a few pounds of thread, some needles and the heavy duty roller edge guide. Comes on the standard table with servo motor. Asking $1600 for it. Next up is a Highlead 618 walking foot machine. Will include several packs of needles, some 1/2 pound spools of thread, lots of bobbins and several feet. Have a extra bobbin casing and extra set of feed dogs. Machine is mounted on a table with servo motor and thread rack. Asking $875 for it. Last is a Singer 31-19. It is mounted is a long table with servo motor. Comes with a ton of needles and silicone pots. Asking $200 for it. All machines are located in Southern Indiana. Willing to drive a few hours to deliver for a slight fee to cover gas. Otherwise these are for pickup only. Shipped only if you arrange for packing, pickup and shipping.
  8. How do you change the sttich legnth for consew 229. I read in the instruction similar to singer 111. To push and hold the plunger to lock the notch and keep truning the pulley in the machine. I just found out that the old machine I bought has no plunger to lock it. Can I use any metal or screw driver to stock it to the notch? Kinda scary when you are not sure what it is . The pulley that in the manual, is that the hand wheel of the sewing machine? I bought this machine and the guy I bought from never told me about it and I never think of asking cause I presume that would not be a problem.. attach is the pic.
  9. Singer Postbed sewing machine for sale. Machine works great and can sew fast as lightening. Don't want to sell the machine but I'm moving and don't have room for it. Located in the DFW area. Prefer local pickup. Willing to drive a little ways to meet buyer. $800 OBO. PM with questions
  10. Hi All, I am at the point where I need to make the step from hand stitching to a machine stitch to increase production speed, although I am having a hard time finding suppliers for the machines I am looking at. A lot of topics in this forum are making me lean towards a Cowboy 3200 however the nearest sales partner for Cowboy is in Germany (as far as my research go's!) There seem to be a lot of old industrial machines on ebay but it is hard finding a machine that is specifically designed for stitching leather and the cost of a Cowboy is a lot having never had a go on one before making the purchase, taking in to consideration shipping costs as well. Plus there are so many versions of each Singer or Juki for example on ebay that is hard to know which one would be best and suitable, there are also people selling machines on ebay stating the machine can work with leather but unfortunately not all of these statements are true. Does anyone know of any dealers based in the UK, selling specificly leather designed machines? It would be great to find someone that deals with Singer, Cowboy, Techsew, Cobra and Juki, plus any others that could be recommended. Many thanks, Ross
  11. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10205369374412376&set=vb.1189374515&type=3&theater Video of the machine running with a barely held on home machine motor...shown sewing med fabric and Lighter garment/upolstery leather I am asking 350.00 for the head. You will need to choose your motor based on what you plan to sew! If it is shipped we will have to figure out how to get it to you will let you figure it out and choose your shipper! Buyer will pay shipping. If you are fairly close by I can meet up with you! I am in Texas Navasota area. College Station and Brenham are close! We cleaned her fully she has been lubed and is running smoothly. This is not a walking foot model machine. She sews light leather and heavy fabrics. If you are serious make me an offer! The winder is actually rare. It needs a rubber doughnut and it will wind bobbins. You will need a table and motor just want you to be aware of this fact! I am thinning down my machines I do not have room for all my collection!
  12. I have an opportunity to purchase a Singer 16-88 and am wondering if this is a good machine for leather. I also need to know if I can get parts since it is over 100 years old. It says it has a 1/3 hp motor. Does that sound right to you? Thanks, Sue
  13. So I recently came by a Singer 111W155 that was used in a production environment. This is my venture into the world of industrial sewing machines and know very little about them. That being said, I’m pretty excited to get this machine back up and running. It did not come with a table, motor, bobbin winder, pedal, presser foot lever, and I’m sure several other things I’m overlooking. The presser foot lever has been removed and there seems to be some type of compressed air system in place. I’m not sure if there’s a way to manually lift the foot via a screwdriver but I would like to restore that functionality. If possible, add the knee presser lever I’ve seen on a few tables too. I’m guessing getting it cleaned up is the first step. I was thinking I would give it a kerosene bath followed by some copious oiling. Is there a specific oil these old Singer machines like? Then I need to look into a servo motor, table, and all the missing attachments. Looks like there are a few service manuals floating around the internet. Should go a long ways in helping me understand just what I'm looking at. http://navyaviation.tpub.com/14218/index.htm Here are some pictures: Front of Machine Model + Serial Number Presser Foot Back of Machine & Cut Wires Gearing + Timing Belt
  14. Hi All, I am new to the forum so if this is in the wrong place - please feel free to move my topic or even shut it down. I work at a store and we have a Singer 29K06 machine and we have always used it to sew patches onto jacket, no leather repair. All of our tailors are only familiar with how to run the machine but not troubleshoot. We had a tech out because the machine started skipping stiches but he was not familiar with parts for the machine because its so old. He mentioned that it had something to do with the timing. Does this issue sound familiar to anyone? Or does anyone have any resources that I could take a gander at to try and troublehsoot myself? Thank you for your help! Erin
  15. I've been using a Singer 29K58 in the construction of some of my leather bustiers, but according to my understanding of the instructions provided by Wiz, it's worn out. My local guys won't touch rebuilding it, too old, too expensive, etc... One of my local dealers has a new one for $1895, or thereabouts but it's of no name I've ever heard of. Now before anyone gets too excited, I do have and occasionally use my Pfaff 545 walking foot to reinforce my seams, but it can be challenging at times to force some of the curves under the needle assembly. I know what I want it to do, just don't know how to get what I need at an affordable price, or enough to know if what I'm being offered is the best bang for the buck. So, what I'm looking for is some info on what is currently being made, not what was once made and long since discontinued, or no longer in production. Thanks I create my bustiers through a wet molding process, forming, trimming & cutting as I shape them to their final look. See attached photo:

  18. Hello all, I haven't posted in a while, but I've definitely been on the forums researching. I've been reading a LOT of forum threads about sewing machines and understand what is necessary as far as walking foot, servo motor, etc. Unfortunately, the cash outlay necessary is out my league, at least for now. I have been hand stitching all of my work and now have a client who would like some tote bags and I thought it was time to finally get a sewing machine to help. I have a small home machine which I do a lot of thin deerskin bags for the same client and I knew it wasn't going to help. I scoured the Bay and craigslist and found a lady selling a Singer 31-47. I checked ISMACS, and it was in the 31 family and is for heavy fabrics and leather. I picked it up for $250. It has the original table and clutch motor. I've done a s much reading as I can find, but my question is, after much digression, what is the biggest thread size that I can run through this machine? The lady I bought it from said her husband did upholstery work and the thread that came with it is size EE, which is 69? I'd like to go to at least 92 or even 138 but cannot find any information regarding thread sizes for my machine. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
  19. Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and although i've been reading it frequently over the last two years this is my first post. After much hand-sewing of leather items, i've taken the plunge and bought last month a singer 29K3 dating back from 1905. The machine was quite rusty and battered but I didn't pay much for it either. I have to mention this is my first sewing machine ever. I've been looking for replacement parts but although they are plenty for later models, I can't seem to find stuff for older machines and am not sure whether the newer parts are compatible. I have successfully cleaned, repaired, adjusted, soldered a number of things and the machine will now stitch more or less consistently. I am however left with three issues and am happy to collect guidance from the educated on these : 1. On the back of the slide part of the "round ring" is a small roller. This one is worn (faceted), and the groove in the drive pulley may be worn as well. I can drill out the roller and replace it with a custom machined one of suitable diameter. How much play between the roller and the groove is acceptable? Would a replacement part be compatible with this machine? 2. The needle isn't perfectly aligned with the hole in the shuttle cover plate. the needle is a little bit to the left, as if the lower arm of the machine was too long. If the leather is thick and causes the needle to deflect a little bit under load, it can hit the plate and break the needle. A previous owner has chamfered the hole on one side of the plate, in order for the needle to get back in the hole. Is there any adjustment I can make to correct this? 3. The shuttle was missing when I got the machine, I had to source one but am not perfectly happy with the result. I may or not have the correct part, but there is some play around the shuttle, even if the small spring in the shuttle carrier is present. As a result, a clacking noise is sometimes heard from that area, and I wonder if any replacement part better suited to my machine would be availables. I welcome any advice on these topics, with many thanks in advance.
  20. Hi All, I'm new to sewing and new to working with leather, but I have a collection of leather remnants and an inherited industrial singer sewing machine (20U-109) that I would like to start experimenting with. I'm interested in trying my hand at making handbags and possibly some leather garments. I've read online that my machine can be used to sew leather, but when I called about getting my machine serviced, I was told that it would not sew leather. Has anyone used this type of machine for sewing leather? And more importantly, what kind of machine would you recommend to someone who was just starting out sewing leather? Thanks All, for any insight you may have! Emma
  21. I purchased a Singer 29K51 but haven't located a really good manual on operation, maintainance, parts or specs on what this machine can actually sew or thread size to use. Does someone have a link where I can buy a manual described above? Maybe someone can tell me if this machine is worth using or should I use it as a paper weight and purchase an electric leather sewing machine? I'm a novice leathercrafter, making belts, wallets, checkbooks for now, I do plan on making motorcycle seats, chaps and asscessories later on and repairing horse tack, maybe harness rigging but no saddle work. It looks like the Techsew 2700 would be the perfect all around machine, but to expensive for this novice What other used machines would qualify equally or close to the Techsew 2700 for around $800-$1000 ?? I did read all the info posted by Wizcraft on leather machines. Very interesting and informative.

  24. I am repairing a Singer 7-34 which has been previously jury rigged and was missing parts. I have the parts manual to the machine and have gotten original parts but honestly I have trouble figuring out how the assembly goes together. Does anyone have a working 7-34 they could take a close up photo of? Preferably the Tension assembly all put together and one of the assembly broken down in order of assembly? The check spring stop I have on the machine is not original and I am going to track that down. I took some photos of what I have for the assembly right now. The check spring is new, but I really can't tell based on the manual if it's the right one or not. Hope someone has some experience with this. It's sewing okay except I have to stop the check spring manualy or it won't form a loop and the bobbin thread isn't getting pulled to the middle. Cheers! Chris Eisenman
  25. Hi All! I have a 29-4 for sale. I have not used it much and can use the space in the shop for a different tool. The machine has been serviced at Reichart here in Phoenix. It could use a little "Love" as far as cosmetics/paint. The stand appears to be the original Treadle Stand and all parts function. Photos show that it does sew and does do a pretty nice stitch I have 6 extra bobbins and a pkg of needles. The Leather belt could use some adjusting (tightening) The Machine is located in North Phoenix AZ. at my shop. I would prefer not to get involved in shipping, I would rather that you be local, or passing through Phoenix, or close enough to pick up. Price "picked up" at my shop $550.00 I am not interested in trades unless you have a Clicker Thanks for looking Rick 623 / 271 / 33O9
