Hi, ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. I have purchased a Kwikprint Model #55 and have come across a very reasonably priced Kingsley type/font set. Does anyone know if Kingsley type fits the Kwikprint. Can't seem to find anything specific about this through my research. Cheers,

I have a problem i need to solve asap. I am helping the local BSA with their leather program. Raising money and getting tool donations is going to be a big part of that. But the problem at hand is this. Storage of the 2d/3d leather stamps and alphabet sets. The boxes they have are severely worn and need to be replaced. Tandy discontinued the boxes they sold and currently have some plastic racks that will not work for our needs. Springfield Leather has a box that will work but it has an attached lid that makes it awkward when it is opened on the table, as it takes up twice the space. Since I am looking at a custom solution I have come up with one I think is pretty good. Our Council has multiple sets of tools that have to be kept separate. These are the programs they have: Cub Scout Day Camp - There are supposed to be 4 identical sets of tools that are loaned to the districts whenever they are doing a day camp. They handle up to 20 scouts at a time with multiple sessions throughout the day. These sets are also used for the Leatherwork Merit Badge events sponsored by the council with 20 scouts per class. Usually 2 classes in a day. BSA Scout Reach - There are supposed to be 4 identical sets of tools for use in this program for about 40 kids to use the tools at a time with 3 or 4 groups that use them that day. BSA Summer Camp - Last year our council had 2 summer camps running, one outside Las Vegas and one in Utah. So there are 2 sets of tools that are kept at their respective camps. So there are 10 sets of tools that need to be managed with 8 that are supposed to be mobile. I am thinking of building a front-opening box with trays, of 3/4" plywood, that can be removed and set on a table. The trays would be close enough that the tray above would act as a stop so the stamps wouldn't shift during transport. One of the designs I am considering is having a row of stamps and just below it a leather strip with the stamp impression and stamp number on it. This way I can easily see if anything is missing when the set gets turned in. The problem is that this takes up a little more than twice the space as the regular stamp box. But it will keep the stamps in order. This will apply to the alphabet sets as well. For my own stamps, I used to keep them in the boxes, stacked in a cabinet but every time I wanted a specific stamp or alphabet set it always seemed to be the bottom box I needed. Now I keep them in one of those flat file cabinets commonly known as blueprint, map or art cabinets. Actually I have 3 of them with a total of 15 drawers. Now all the alphabet and 3d stamps are spread out in a single layer. My alphabet sets take up 3 drawers. The 2d/3d stamps including the stamp sets (sports, native american, emojis, etc...) take up 4 and the rest are filled with leather tools and stuff. After I create the same custom trays like I describer above, my 3d stamps will probably use at least 6 drawers. I've seen them on offerup for as little as 90.00 each, so they are a bargain. But not great for mobility. Any other ideas out there? Dale

Looking for some advice on how to create a border like this. Mainly on what stamps to use and where to find them. The project is a large leather-topped desktop so hoping to figure out some way of keeping the stamping simple as its going around a large area. Also would love any advise on where to find any flowing vine/leaf pattern stamps in general (as in example 3). Thanks in advance.

Hello all, Looking for a rising (or setting) sun camouflage tool to match what is on this strap of this vintage sidesaddle. The saddle could be anywhere from 80-120 years old. The strap was broken and someone used nails to "repair" it. The owner said she will only replace the whole strap if she can match the tooling exactly. Otherwise, we trim, skive, overlap and stitch where the break is. I haven't seen this particular tool before so am hoping someone in the community has. If it's available, we would be ecstatic. Thanks in advance! Anita

So I bought a pretty cool heat press off of eBay. It was advertised as a Kingsley but after talking to the seller on the phone it came out that the press is actually a Gold-Magic Robotemp 315 and it comes with 5 sets of Kingsley letters and a huge tub of foil. I won it for only $100 and I'm driving up to Maine next week to pick it up. Even though I am a bit bummed it isn't a Kingley, for $100 I am not going to hold a grudge. Here are some photos of it that came off of the listing. It doesn't come with a manual since the seller got it for free off of a gentleman that used to work for the State of Maine. The original owner used the press for fancy invitations for state functions, and the seller I bought it off of used it to monogram leather guitar straps. I'm hoping someone here knows where I can find a manual for this machine or has any insight whatsoever. Thank you -Bear

I am looking for contact information for "South Coast" tool maker (see attached pics), I think they are out of Taiwan. With these two tools you can produce a basket stamp weave pattern by beveling the swivel knife cut pattern. Thank you for your assistance.

Hello all, I use a heating iron to heat my custom stamps, then transfer the stamp to my piece of leather and finally use my 1 ton arbor press to get a good impression on my leather. I have been using an oven mitt to transfer the stamp from the heating iron to the piece of leather. It's a bit uncomfortable but it worked alright. Well now the heat from the stamp has burned a hole in the mitt. Any suggestions on gloves I can use to handle the stamp? Also, would a heat gun work well for heating my stamps? Thanks!

I couldn't find any information on this anywhere. For those who make things with at least a bit of the flesh side visible, has anyone ever tried stamping their logo onto the flesh side with ink, rather than using an actual 3d stamp on the grain side? I thought it could look pretty cool. If you used archival ink I would think it wouldn't fade or discolor. Any thoughts?

I have recently deiscovered that there is a club who provide access to a laser cuter and CNC machine right down the street from me. I'm in the need of making my own makers mark stamp and was wondering do you think an acrylic stamp laser cut would handle the pressure of being pressed into leather?

Alright, I'm overwhelmed by hot foiling machines, and seeking advice. I'm in the market for a hot foil machine, we've been using an arbor press, and I'm ready to add foil to our customization options, but don't know the best direction to go. I have about $700 to spend on one and am just confused. I want to be able to mount my brass tamps on the press without using the tape that I've seen people write about. Does anyone have any experience with the Kingsley presses? Would I be able to do that on this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kingsley-hot-foil-stamping-machine-model-M-50-type-and-type-holders-/282085520442 Just looking for some guidance before pulling the trigger.

I wanted to try working on a stamp that could be used to make patches. This was my first attempt, and for the most part I'm pretty pleased with the results. At the moment I'm a bit limited on the size of design I can do because of the material that I'm using. Chris

Made this one tonight. Not if I like this one as much as some of the others that I've done. It's 1.5" high. Chris

Just finished this one up a few minutes ago. 1.5" tall Chris

Here's a stamp I made today. I found the image online and thought it would make a cool leather stamp. Took about an hour to make start to finish and it's about 1 1/2" square. Chris

I am in the market for a user-friendly stamp press machine to use on small leather accessories such as a leather credit card case. The machine will be used to emboss a logo on the leather. Not sure if I should go with heat or non? I am very particular about quality. I will not be using foil, but may want the option down the road. I have spoken to vendors and the recommendations I am getting are the following: green machine, model 25, and 55. Any feedback regarding model and vendor recommendations would be great. Thanks.

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knew where to find the stamp shown in this picture. It looks like a geometric/weave, but I've been unable to find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
