Looking to sell my Tippmann Boss leather stitcher. The machine works perfectly. I used it in a pro holster making business for about 2 years before my arthritic hands made leather work tough. It works perfectly fine. I have either 5 or 10 extra spools that will come with it as well as the LED light (you can see the light in the photo) as well as at least one, possibly 2 spools of thread perfect for making holsters and whatever needles I have laying around. I'm asking $1025 for all plus $25 shipping (continental US only). The machine works perfectly well. I just made myself a holster with it about 2 months ago.

From the album: Old and new pieces
Testing out my new Tippmann Boss. -
Ok, so, just a few months ago, November of 2013 to be exact, I bought a brand new, Tippmann Boss sewing machine. Straight out of the box, using a size 200 Needle, with 277 thread, it works perfectly. I purchased the flatbed accessory, the other presser feet, and size 160 needles and 138 thread just a couple weeks ago. Using the new size 160 needle and 138 thread, it no longer makes stitches. I checked the needle alignment - the scarf spot is going where it is supposed to go. I've tried turning it a few degrees either direction, several times. The thread tensions are set up according to instructions. It misses every single stitch. So, I live in central time zone, and I call customer service. They all leave at 3pm my time. I have a full time day job. Kinda tough to talk to someone.... So I email them... 3 days later, I get the response "One thing we can try is taking some pressure off of the take up arm spring. There is a spring in the back of your machine that lifts your take up arm up you can bend this spring out and take some pressure off of it." .... literally, that's it. So, it took 3 days to tell me that I need to bend a spring to fix my problem? That seems like terrible customer service. Since when did we start bending things and breaking precision equipment in order to fix it? At any rate, I tried this method. Didn't fix it. I took the needle plate off, and watched the needle enter the shuttle bay. The little finger that catches the loop of thread on the needle, misses it. It's as if the shuttle doesn't go close enough to the needle. Thoughts?

I'm considering buying a leather sewing machine to help grow my part time leather wallet business and I was wondering if a Tippmann Boss would be suitable. I live in an apartment so I have very little space available. I am renting a garage at the apartment but the power is limited and I'm not sure if it could handle an industrial machine motor. I might start branching off into belts and bags as well at some point. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am selling my cast iron Tippmann Boss. I have not used this on any projects. I bought it about a month and a half two months ago and it has sat on my bench untouched. I decided to go a different route. it has all of the original tools and accessories. comes with several bobbins, a roll of white 346 with just a few feet missing. a roll of black 277 that i filled one bobbin with and was gonna try and stitch this week but havnt had time to sit down and mess with it. i also have the led light that will go with the machine. a pack of 10 #200 needles plus the original assortment of needles that came with the machine new. comes with the upgraded wooden shipping crate. machine is very clean and I am the second owner. Asking $1300 obo. willing to ship at buyers expense. will post pictures when I get home.

So I bought a used tippmann boss...and I love it. A couple issues I have is that once in every stitching run it misses a stitch I am almost positive i am pulling down and up all the way. The second issue is that I do get marks from the presser foot no matter how light I adjust it? I am using the popular center foot. I am very thankful to all that take the time to answer and help Lewis

I have been a member for a while but this is the first time posting. I mainly work with thicker leather mainly 5oz and above. I do a lot of dog collars, leashes, spur straps, holsters etc. I want to do more with tack and stuff like that down the road. Finances are fairly tight I am trying to take this from a hobby to possible business. I am disabled from MS and started the hobby as PT for my hands. So cost is a major factor since I am on disability. I have heard a lot about the Tippman Boss. I know it's a manual machine which is fine but I am curious as to what other users think of it. Do they love it or hate it is it even worth the money? One thing I like is that the Boss will go through thick leather easily and being manual I can control the speed better. Sometimes the legs don't cooperate as well as I would like them to with pedal machines. Is there other machines in the same price range or cheaper I should consider? I have just wasted so much money and time thinking metal sewing machines from the 50-70's or earlier would work only to find they don't event make it through a wallet let alone what I need. I have only been doing leather work for about a year. Thanks
