  2. I'm liquidating my leather tools and I have a virtually unused Weaver Easy Edge that I purchased about 5 years ago. Being completely honest and truthful, I probably ran under 20 feet of leather straps through this machine. I had a dream of producing leather goods in my tack shop but the weight of just running the business quickly took over and I never saw my dream come true. This machine is truly in new condition, the blades are nearly untouched. Weaver currently sells this unit for $1300. Convenient machine gives you the ability to edge all four edges of your strap at once for time savings and reduced labor costs. With 12 cutting blades (6 on each side), the blades can be rotated and switched to the opposite side so you don't need to re-sharpen as frequently. Bottom blades can be dropped down if you want to edge the top two edges only. Asking $750 plus freight to get it to you. Sips from NE Ohio, Cleveland area. If nearby you can of course pick it up locally too. If you've ever drooled at the thought of having one of these, here's your opportunity. I am steadily listing more products including a Mighty Wonder 4 ton clicker and a Weaver skiver. More to come.
  3. Asking $600 please feel free to DM any questions or reasonable offers, thank you
  4. Pics set of 8 better than new as they are stropped and sharp only selling because I upgraded to Ron’s Montana edgers. These are $110 plus shipping from Japan
  5. So I have the craftool b203 beveler which is small. My projects are small for now. I want a Barry king steep beveler but I don’t know which to buy that is approx the same size. What are the sizes of the Barry king beveler. I’m thinking 00 or 0 but I don’t want it too small. Can someone help.
  6. Full set straight shanked edgers only the size 0 is used these are old tools got them from a 96 year old saddle maker. I also have an older one for $1500. A new machine at Randall Campbell cost around $5000. Email me for more info. ricksaulg@aol.com
  8. Thinking that I was going to be doing more lacing than I am, I purchased a lace cutter/Beveler, splitter from Mr. Clint Sims last summer. I tracked his email down through a leather forum, as it seems he has an almost cult-like following and you can’t find these little machines for sale anywhere. He has been machining these tools for fifteen years and the one I got is the most recent generation. I HAVE NEVER USED THIS TOOL. I never even set it up and read all the way through the instructions that he emailed me, because my business turned in a different direction and I found myself not needing to make my own lace. All pieces are included, down to the blades that he taped together and his little hand written notes warning me that they are sharp and how to properly mount the tool I paid $310 (can provide all email and receipt documentation). I’d like someone to be able to use it. Selling it for $300 shipped, but also willing to entertain (very reasonable) offers. It’s brand spanking new. Includes all emailed instructions for set up and use from the man himself. Additional photos can be provided per request ( I wasn’t able to upload all of them on here).
  9. Hi There I am relatively new to rawhide and kangaroo but have been braiding paracord and making other leather items for a few years now, I am based between New Zealand and Australia and am having trouble finding a leather cutter/ beveler that will be suitable for rawhide mainly. I would appreciate any recommendations. I would prefer not to buy from the US if possible because the postage rates to here are horrendous Thanks in advance
  10. 11. Hi There, im rather new to rawhide braiding and looking to buy a string cutter/beveler. But am not having a lot of luck finding one in New Zealand / Australia, would any one be able to point me in the right direction for this? Thanks in advance
  12. Hello! I have a Barry King Common edger for sale that I have barely used. The edger is in very good condition. I am asking $45 shipped (in the US) I can't submit a picture because the files are too large but I would be more than happy to send it in an email. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
  13. Hi All I decided to make a commitment to embark on the journey to higher ground and horse tack; including high quality show bridels of which my first project will tackle. Any advise out there? I'm not one to take many short cuts and I would benifit greatly from suggestions that take me closer to my goal which says I will listen closely. Honest....I will! My Buisness Plan 1. Planning on custom makes and short runs only at this time 2. Am working with an experienced show horse owner who is networked in my local area. 3. I've purchased an assortment of tack for a better understanding of the industry's general construction methodology. 4. I own suitable stitching machines and support equipment. 5. I'm a career mechanical engineer and successful product designer. ...And I have a question for the group Harness making requres a good means of stripping. For a one off or short run production, is a manual stripper acceptable? Thank you in advance for your help. Silverd
  14. I would like to invest in a couple of nice beveling stamps. I am looking for some recommendations. I've looked at Barry King's website and there are so many which is great but I don't know what the difference is between a few. I know I want a smooth beveler. I make dog collars and therefore work quite small. My go to Craftool bevelers is a B935 and B203. A few of my questions are 1) What is an undercut beveler? 2)What are your favorite brands, BK, ect? 3)Is there a way to figure out what angle the Craftool bevelers are so I can compare them mentally? Right now Im looking at either the BK line but am not sure about the regular, 15 degree or xx steep. Thanks in advance! Julie
  15. Does anybody happen to know the mm equivalent of Craftools Sizes? The only info I can find is "The larger the number, the wider the bevel." LOL I have a size #2 and a size #3 but the #2 is still a bit large for 3/4 oz. leather. Any help?
  16. Hello all, its been a while. Anyway, I am in the market for a new edge beveler, and I have been told that Barry King Tools makes some good edgers for the money. I was looking to either purchase their grooved edger or their common edger. They told me that the common edger gives more of a rounded edge than the grooved edger, but that the grooved edger lasts longer. I havent really had great luck with precision and consistency with the style of edger that the common edger is. The grooved edger seems more like Tandy's pro edger, which is what i'm used to. The problem is, the smallest size pro edger tandy sells is a #2, which isnt small enough, and their new fine edger is too small. I'm working a lot with 4/5 and 5/6 oz leather, and the #2 tandy sells takes too much off and does not always cut a perfectly straight bevel. I guess my question is, does anyone have any experience with the sizing of barry kings edgers and possibly how the sizing compares to tandy's? What oz of leather is recommended to use with each size beveler? Do you think the grooved edger or the common edger would be more ideal? Thank you for the input! Zayne
  17. I am looking for contact information for "South Coast" tool maker (see attached pics), I think they are out of Taiwan. With these two tools you can produce a basket stamp weave pattern by beveling the swivel knife cut pattern. Thank you for your assistance.
  18. Just purchased a #2 Montana edger from Ron's to primarily use for wallets. I generally use around 4oz leather and they suggested the #2 to see if I like it and it didn't remove much of anything from a single piece of 4oz. II'm going to exchange it but not sure which to get. My wallets are on thicker side but I don't like too aggressive of a bevel. From those with experience would you recommend the Montana or Round and which size? I understand the Montana is for thin leathers so seems I'd need at least a #3. Was thinking a #2 in the round.
  19. Couldn't find this mentioned elsewhere, so thought I would share this Youtube tutorial by Shane Hutchinson (from Abraided Leather) on making your own lace/thong beveller. I knocked up one quickly with things I already had in the garage (block of wood, wooden paint stirrer, utility knife blade). I found it easy to use, accurate and pleasingly fast. Have attached photos of mine below, used on 3mm Kangaroo lace. NB: Due to the depth of my block of wood rather than clamping the blade I just hammered it into the wood. This does halve the life of the blade (as the hammered side is dulled so you can't turn it over) but worth it for me as I found clamping twisted the blade to a strange angle. I used spare blades from my Stanley utility knife, AU$5.98/5 pack. These are available in Carbide which (allegedy) last 5 times longer than a regular blade. Hope someone finds this useful! Cheers, Kristy
  20. Can anyone tell me what this tool is called? I've looked around different online leather tool shops and can't seem to find it. It would be easier if I knew what it was officially called. I like the edge it produces, I just don't know what to call it. Beveler, creaser and "magic edge tool" don't seem to show this tool in any google search. Thanks in advance. Dan
  21. I was just wondering what everyones favorite edge bevelers are, and also what you use for thinner leather (3/4 or 4/5 oz). I have used the tandy edge beveler #2 as thats the smallest size it comes in, keen edge beveler which I rarely use, and their new craftool pro classic edger size #00 and fine edger. I use the #2 edge beveler the most, as it seems to cut smother and is a lot easier to control than the new pro classic edgers. I got the new #00 for thinner leather, but I hate the design, it is a lot harder to keep it at a consistent angle, and seems to cut about as much off as the #2 edge beveler. I wish Tandy sold their edge beveler smaller than a #2, as that would probably work better with thinner leather. The #2 has a really hard time with 4/5 oz and smaller. I can use the #2 on 4/5 oz if i put another piece of leather underneath, but it cuts off too much of the edge, and by the time I go to burnish, the edge is too thin and ends up folding over, and looking like garbage. Ideally, I would want to cut off as little as possible, so the edge isn't extremely round, more flat. But when I have tried that, the edge still folds over slightly on front and back, and doesn't look good. Does anyone have a method for getting a more flat (slightly rounded) edge, without the leather folding over? What I offer is this list, shipped for $1200. Most of these have never been struck. Those that have, very little. These are like new. I can send more pictures. Barry put this together about 5 years ago for me and some are not on his site, like the lined serpentine with dot. I have tried to identify these as much as possible (types and sizes). You may do better but it should be really close. Pictures are worth a 1000 words so look there for more info on size and type. A great set to flip or get someone started. Need a USPS MO in hand before shipping. No PayPal or personal checks.
  23. So I've never used a beveler or worked with leather in any way. I watched a Tandy tutorial that calls for Craftool B202 L&R bevelers. I looked them up and they appear to have a checkered pattern. I am confused about the L&R... does the left and right refer to the direction of the lines in the impression? or what? I haven't seen any other bevelers which are L&R? Additionally, is there an equivalent that I could buy that would do the same thing, but with just one tool? I'm thinking of just buying a few tools from Barry King, and bypassing Craftool stuff. I haven't bought ANY bevelers, so I was just going to start with one or so and go from there.
  24. Anyone used a Barry King grooved edger? Any thoughts on it? I'm considering purchasing a set, but I would love some feedback before I do. And pro or cons vs their common edger? My primary goal is a nice round edge on the leather, and a tool that is easy to sharpen.
