I have a Singer 31-15. Had it sewing beautifully with #92 thread. Switched to #69 & the bobbin thread is looping BADLY. I noticed that after a couple of stitches, the thread is jumping out of the tension discs. I've tried adjusting the tension on the discs, thread still jumps out. It seems as if it needs more tension before the discs to keep it between the discs. I appreciate any suggestions you experienced folk have, however, I'm not a sewing machine repair person, or by any standard an expert, so simple answers will be the most helpful. I'm not up on the technical terminology. Thanks!
Hi all, I just received a Chinese replacement hook assembly that I bought online. I was told it fitted my 211G156 sewing machine. it's a beautiful piece of machined excellence... BUT this looks like an installation for an expert because of the timing involved between the needle, the bobbin, the hook... etc.. The reason I decided to replace this piece is that the screws to tighten the bobbin tension were frozen solid on my old hook and could only compensate so much with the upper tension to get a good seem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have the Service Manual and the Parts List for my 211G156. Skylark-53
I just bought this machine on Monday for making moccasins and thin sandals. I am new to leather working as well as new to sewing in general. Overall, I am pretty happy with the machine. However, regardless of how I adjust the tension, the bobbin thread shows on top. Can anyone tell me what might be the problem? My first guess is that the bobbin tension needs to be adjusted but I am relatively clueless and I would love some advice before a mess anything up by tinkering with the machine. Thanks ahead for any advice!
Ok, I have a Consew 226r-2. Had great even thread tension when I first got it, had it set up in my garage. It had been used mainly for Upholstery jobs prior to my getting it. Then when I moved it into my house ( sewing in an unheated garage when the temps are 50F and under, wasn't going to happen, and now we've been -38F a few mornings i'm glad i brought it in) but i digress.. since i brought it in i've been having tension issues. thought i had it sorted out, but was wrong. When i stitch 95% of the time the bottom threads loop is showing on the topside. once in a rare while it will be just right and the knot won't show top or bottom, but as i said that is rare! I've read the manual multiple times, gone through all the adjustments for tension for both top and bobbin.. and still no love. I can pull the bobbin thread and there is almost no resistance at all... I'm just at a loss at what to do to figure it out. I attached a couple pictures. the one on the dark leather is how the stitch looks most of the time, the spur straps show it doing it's sometimes nice, sometimes off stitch, and then the other pale leather is the one time it seemed to be stitching just right...
