  1. Hi there, I posted here before but posting again to see if anyone wants some work making leather guitar straps? Our vision is really good leathers combined with simple but classic design. Think 70s Gibson guitar straps, 60s Fender straps: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364374971552?chn=ps&_ul=GB&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=364374971552&targetid=1403035015427&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9046004&poi=&campaignid=17218284410&mkgroupid=142217514411&rlsatarget=pla-1403035015427&abcId=9300867&merchantid=232684581&gclid=CjwKCAiA8YyuBhBSEiwA5R3-E7cj781-mrh7zB_yLWyn7FUuo2CtIIkVrtTj4f-dSmQStYCAnkZXShoCBYEQAvD_BwE (https://reverb.com/uk/item/66322376-fender-strap-1960s?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20304708451&utm_content=campaignid=20304708451_adgroupid=_productpartitionid==merchantid=625253007_productid=66322376_keyword=_device=c_adposition=_matchtype=_creative=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA8YyuBhBSEiwA5R3-E9UKfbaAodpWs2OOB3HRpEdNrOSKMOEox1skBP7svLcvn0dKe3LKAhoCHzcQAvD_BwE) As far as possible, we are going to avoid sewing, burnishing, finishing edges so we can create quite a rustic look and a pretty quick production time. I'll pay a fair rate (to be negotiated with you) and bring you regular work. Anyone keen and with relevant experience/knowledge, please contact me on 07801496069. Best, Adam
  2. I own an online store and would like to begin selling premium watch straps and men's belts in addition to my regular merchandise. But, I need a reliable supplier with experience and the ability to meet production deadlines. I'm an amateur leathercrafter myself, but don't have the time to produce the quantities that I'll need. I have some basic design ideas and preferred materials (Horween, Wickett & Craig, etc.), but would love to explore concepts with you as well. Please DM for more details. Bonus points if you live near Boise, Idaho or Tucson, Arizona where our offices are, but I'm otherwise open to any location.
  3. Greetings! I am part of a project to launch a cocktail lounge in Northern California, in May 2023. We have several hundred yards of leather left over from our furniture making. We'd like a leather worker to make us custom menu covers, adding backing and/or fixtures to close, using our leather, which would match our furniture. Can your team of craftspeople help us find an artist for this work? The menu covers may have our logo embossed if that's easily done, or "printed" if that's thing, and our lounge name. We don't have a set number in mind, but a few hundred to start, I would think?

  6. Hello I am looking to purchase some things for my PFAFF 335 (H2-17/1B L) and I was wondering if anyone could help me with the following questions (if possible). Would this Industrial Sewing Machine Take Up Check Spring work with my PFAFF model? - konsew.com/parts-and-accessories/industrial-sewing-machine-take-up-check-spring What type of feet are used in the pictures below? As the feet I have already on my machine do not allow me to get close to my drop down guide (leave a big gap from the edge) and I need to get close for card holders / wallets etc. Thanks and I look forward to your replies.
  7. I am looking to have two witches hats made probably late January to early February for my wife and a friend. I am interested in what the steps are I need to go through and a general idea of the cost. Please over calculate instead of low-balling. I know it is a skill set worth paying for and I would rather find out it was cheaper than quoted than more expensive. Thanks in advance.
  8. I’m interested to see if anyone can copy these sandals! I would love if someone could! Thank you! I am a men’s size 10
  9. Hi! I have a designed a line of very simple leather hand bags, most are size variations of the original clutch. I have one sample, made by a commercial leather factory that has since gone out of business. I am looking for someone with experience and all of the necessary tools and equipment to bring the rest of the designs to life. I need samples and small production. I am currently in AZ, from MN and at this point open to hearing from anyone in the southwest, west or Mn. You can contact me here (I will check back) or at sacredgypsyart@gmail.com Thanks so much! Deb
  10. Hi all, I'm building a prototype glove for a new business venture. Looking for an experienced leather glove maker to either do the fabrication or at a minimum talk particulars and educate me on some of the finer points of glove making. I have done a fair amount of research on the topic on this forum, and found some old books but it's always nice to speak with someone directly on specifics (for example: sewing techniques for attaching the fourchettes). I am located just outside Chicago if there is anybody local (but welcome suggestions, recommendations or expertise from anywhere!). Thank you, Brandon
  11. Hello! I need a leather blanket or leather sleeping bag. Specifics to be determined. Ideally, the sleeping bag would be leather inside and out. A full hide would be awesome perhaps with a seam, if needed, where the bag is folded over vertically along the side. A zipper along the edges. This way the bag can be zipped or unzipped and laid out flat like a blanket. -or- Simply a large leather blanket leather on both sides. Please send experience and vision including potential challenges and questions. Thank You.

  15. Hello from Northwestern MN! I stumbled upon this forum and boy I wish I would have found you people earlier. I farm and have a small dog collar business on the side. I'm also very active with my dogs in areas of agility, flyball, dock diving, hunting, shed hunting and herding. I help others train their dogs too! I'm heavily into rescue work and have been known to foster up to 10-20 dogs a year. Outdoors is where I prefer to be, I'm a creative soul that loves to try new things. I tend to jump in and learn as I'm doing. My business is called Off Leash Collars. Since 2011, I have specialized in fabric dog collars and a little over ago, I started working with leather. I fell in LOVE with the leather medium and after much investment, I'm selling leather dog collars alongside my fabric ones. I also make memory leather cuffs and add a hand stamped name or saying to help people grieve the loss of a loved one. I am self taught and have learned mostly by trial and error. I have learned so much over the course of the year and I want to learn more. My craft has evolved so much and there are tricks to everything. I've searched for so many places to learn in person or a mentor since I'm such a hands on type person, but I have failed at finding any schooling type places. When I found this forum yesterday I was on cloud 9! My goal is to have a finished product to die for. Us crazy dog people love to deck out our pups! I'm needing help to make those tweaks in looking seriously professional, not just artisan. I have companies that are looking at my work and want to offer my collars for sale on their sites. Which brings up another topic of how much to charge. I've included a picture of one of my collars, all my other pictures are apparently too big to add
  16. I am starting a leather belt company in London I need help making a quality leather belt with a similar design to the attached image (the buckle is a Sam-Browne buckle). I am located in London and would like to work with a manufacturer in the UK or Europe but not much farther. 17. My company needs someone to produce simple & nice wallets for my leather laser engraving business. First we order a sample. Then we order 10-20 depending on your price and requirements. Then we continue to order more as our stock diminishes from sales. We are hoping to build a long term and ongoing relationship with a problem solving organization/craftsman who can keep help us keep up with our demands. Attached are sample pictures of a wallet style we like... It could be a bit different but, this is the general idea of what we like. We want the thick stitched rustic look. 20. Greetings everyone just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to the community. I had decided to take my imagination and set it into work into something. Got myself a starter kit from Tandy Leathers and I'm hooked. I just a beginner and slowly building up my tools and knowledge of the craft. I hoping to continue to learn and hopefully find someone in my area who would be willing to teach me and help me grow as a leather worker. But in the meanwhile greetings and well met.
