CB4500 in-line presser foot problem
voidsurfer posted a topic in Leather Sewing MachinesI am trying to install in-line presser foot set onto my CB4500. I installed the needle foot and the back presser foot okay. The back presser foot position was fine, but I needed to lower the needle foot a little. I loosened the nut to adjust the needle foot. While making this adjustment I heard a clunk, I think the back presser foot dropped a little, and it no longer walks (goes up and down). I am very much a novice so if you think you can help, please pitch your answer accordingly :). I attach a video. I took the face plate off for the video; I assume it’s something in there that needs attention. if the video isn’t accessible, I’m attaching a photo that may help. TIA.

Need answers about my Consew 220
debarooni64 posted a topic in Leather Sewing MachinesHi! My main hobby is not leather works. My husband did make a wallet on my machine, but I am a quilter. I bought the Consew 220 because of its ability to handle several layers of materials, and its large throat space. I want to do free motion quilting on it, but I would need to lower the feed dogs or cover them....I have them covered right now. And I was hoping to find n open toe darning foot that will fit so I can see my stitches as I move the material around. Im here because I googled my machine name trying to find out info and you were one of the few real deals. Btw I already changed out the motor to a new Servo. I cant find any info from the company....I even called them and they said they didnt have anything on this model. Reading some of your posts clearly shows you know industrial machines. Please help....what have I got, what can I do and are there any possible open toed feet that would feet? Thnx in advance!
ADLER 105/64 PLUS EXTRAS FOR SALEAs I have now got my dream machine, an Adler 205/370, my Adler 105/64 is surplus to requirements. I am selling the head only for a couple of reasons- one is transport cost, the other is I have a use for the table. It is in good working order- I have used it on occasion in the past 6 years I have owned it, mostly to put holes in things that need hand stitching! I spent most of today checking it over and setting it up.It will sew through 8mm of leather comfortably .Raised presser foot height is back to the standard of 12mm. There are a number of different presser feet, as shown in the photos. The hinged Simanco foot helps with changing leather thicknesses. The needles are mostly 180 and 160 sizes, one in 130. Very few have been used. There are some Groz Beckert ones in the plastic bag, size 200. The roller foot is a standard Chinese one that I started modifying to fit. Price- offers around £500.00 Transport cost is going to be approx. £85.00 within Europe. PM me anyone that is interested.
Need advice on tools
Sandritou posted a topic in Leather Sewing MachinesHello there, first of all i just wanted to say that I am very happy that I found your website! So helpful! I would like to ask for some advice on finding accessories for my machines. I have a butterfly 335 cylinder bed compound feed sewing machine which I believe is a clone of pfaff 335 but not entirely sure and a emel-protex EM 3300 flat bed lockstich machine. I intend to use these machines to make leather bags. I have bought the machines in Nigeria and I believe the manuals that came with them are not even for these machines. I cannot find any information on parts for these machines or where to buy them. I would like to buy the following: butterfly: straight stitch Guides, motor belt(10mm x1275mm) zipper guide and possible some other parts that I may need in leather bag making and someone could advice? protex: straight stitch guides(I don't think there are holes to attach it though?) zipper guides and other feet that could be of help? i live in France now so best would be some suppliers in Europe. i am also looking for a leather skiving machine but I have a limited budget. I was thinking about this one: http://www.sieck.de/en/machines/skiving/leather-goods-and-automotive-interieur/details/1382/ is anyone familiar with it? Any opinions? i'd highly appreciate any help! thank you, Sandra
Pfaff 335 N00B
drawingonblank posted a topic in Leather Sewing MachinesHi! So I've been working on a relatively newer Pfaff 335 machine and it's been getting the job done. After sewing an entire colonial style jacket out of leather and suede on a commercial machine, I finally upgraded; however, I'm beginning to think I'm making life harder than it needs to be by not using the correct settings for each job. I generally use a 17/105 or 18/110 diamond point needle for most things and the forum recently helped enlighten me about materials / needle / thread combos with the charts I found. I use a flat plate and the feed dogs in the pic below. I work on wallets, duffle bags, jackets, dopp kits and a lot of random luxury items. I even make soft leather holsters. After scouring the site and the manuals, I'm having a hard time finding good resources for what tools do what with my machine i.e. If I'm making a nice, burberry or cole haan type wallet with (fill in the blank type leather) (fill in the blank weight), I'd love to find some sort of 'standard practices' guide that answers: what needle and thread would I use? if binding edges, how to operate the edge binder and how to choose the size feeder etc etc what type of leathers are --typically-- used and what range of leather thickness? if skivving, how thin? when stitching zippers, which feet to use for the machine? I realize this just gets honed with time and each project is unique depending on the tastes but there has to be a guideline? I've figured out a lot thus far but it takes forever. Any help, resources, tables and/or charts are immensely appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Smooth Bottom Walking Feet
SissipahawLeatherCo posted a topic in Leather Sewing MachinesHi all, I have an Econosew 360JC Walking Foot machine. I'm looking for smooth bottom walking feet to replace the ridged ones I have. I need to be sure they fit. Is there a universal size, brand, type to order? And where? It seems to be hard for me to find any smooth bottom walking feet that aren't for bonding. I sew leather purses and while most of the stitching is on the interior of the bag and I don't care too much if there's light marking some of my stitching is on the exterior so any marking is a no go. Help?
What Kind Of Acessories Can Work W/ Consew 227R-2
suznu posted a topic in Leather Sewing MachinesPlease help me,I am purchasing a consew 227r-2 for making light weight bags and medium weight bags, it does not have any other accessories except the presser feet on the machine. Does singer 111 parts/acessories, such as piping feet presser feet ect.work on this machine? If not, what does? I appreciate help in this, thanks everyone
drcharlemagne posted a topic in Leather Sewing MachinesHello sewing machine guru's, I just set up a Consew 223r. I have a few questions. 1) is there an adaptor for the unusual presser foot mount which will allow this machine to take the more common style of industrial presser feet? 2) in my first couple of test runs i got tangled up pretty quickly with large loops on the underside. Obviously this suggests that I need more needle thread tension. Do i just keep tightening the tensioner until the loops go away? is there any other cause of this problem which I should check? 3) what is the biggest needle thread combo for heavy leather stiching which this machine can handle. Everything seems to suggest a 120 with 207 thread? is this right, should I even bother trying 180 with 277?
