Hello all I’m getting rid of of some leathers that I don’t use during this confinement period and because of Corona it’s been quite hard making sales as I’m sure it’s impacted everyone in the leather-working community. So for sale I have 3 Nubuck skins from Tannerie masure in Grey, dark blue and Bordeaux they are around 12-13sqft each and a thickness of about 2-3mm I’m selling each hide of Nubuck for 45$ I have one remaining Brown calf skin lining used for the insides of shoes from tannerie Masure in Belgium. As you can see in the picture it has one hole in the middle and is around 13sqft. The flesh side is ultra soft and has a lovely suede feel and is being sold for 30$ then I have a selection of remaining vintage snake skins from an Italian tannerie dating around 1983-5 they are in grey, beige and a polished silver look. The grey and beige skins are 5€ each and the silver are 12€. i ship internationally from Belgium and if there are multiple purchase I can definitely work out a discount! any and all questions are welcome!

Plus I need the money for school. I researched this a ton before purchasing it. It’s a beautiful sturdy old machine made in Germany and very well built. I updated it with a servo motor by Reliable, the Sewquiet 6000sm, which costs about 190$. This motor is well reviewed and the company gets great reviews as well, if you ever have any difficulties with it. I still have the clutch motor available also, the installation is very simple. I bought the machine and table from a store in San Francisco that was going out of business. They were using it to make canvas and leather bags. 1,400$ and I’ll deliver it anywhere in southern Oregon to the Bay Area. If you want it delivered then there’s a 500$ deposit with the rest payable on delivery. Or 1,215$ and you’ve got to come pick it up yourself with someone to help move it. It’s pretty heavy. I live near Redding. You should have some familiarity with this machine, I won’t be able to show you much about it as I just got it and haven’t had time to get to know it well. Lots of YouTube videos available. I’m not trying to make money on it, I’m just trying to get back the money I’ve put into it. So no lowballing please.

Need help or at least a plethora of opinions. A HUGE arts/crafts festival we paid for months ago has decided to change to a VIRTUAL ONLY format for their late July date. We have the option to either receive a full refund or use what we've paid toward the virtual format. Here are our issues - it was fairly expensive for what we usually pay (almost $500); we sell high end bags (ranging from $45 for a crossbody to $285 for a larger tote-type bag); we feel that MANY other festivals/fairs will be available if we do decide to cancel. We are VERY concerned that the virtual format is not for us in anyway. People (in our experience) tend to buy waaay more if they can smell/touch and hold our products. On the flip side...it would be more online/social media exposure than we can ever generate on our own without paying considerably more than the booth fee. It is possible it could be enough exposure to really get us out there online...which we'd just plain love. We'd love to hear ANY thoughts! (Even the bad ones ). Thanks!

hello i have recently jumped into leather working and lucky for me a local store bought in an auction leather rolls in some bulk and have been sitting for some time so i can pick them up cheap my questions are will it be worth me buying and selling the leather? the aproximate value of similar leathers best place to sell? storing the leather? there are many many different rolls of all kinds of colours i picked up this piece for $30 aud

How do I price my crafts for sale what do people usually charge per hour of work as well?

Hey folks, I'm fairly new to leatherworking (I know the basics of tooling, sewing, lacing and carving), but I've never sold anything, and I'm curious if there is a "system", so to speak, on how to price original pieces of work. I've been making quivers lately, but I was asked to design a pattern for a belt. The job is easy enough, but I'm not sure how much to sell the pattern for, and then I started wondering how you folks price things for sale; whether it be finished pieces, or patterns and design-work. Thanks!
