I have had several pieces of veg tan that have these spots that come to light after I apply the dye. I make sure the leather is fully dry before application and I just don’t know how to prevent this or predict when it will happen. Dies anybody know what this is or how to combat this problem? -
Any ideas on where I can find nickel-plated brass 3/16” flat head two-prong (at least 1/4” long) spots? Some 1/4” would be awesome as well. Thanks for any help you can offer!

I am getting more orders for items lined with spots. I do not do well setting a long line of spots consistently by hand. Is the Weaver Little Wonder the best machine to set spots? Will it set them easily and consistently? I don't mind spending the money, I just want to get the job done with much less trouble than it is now.

This is my third wrist cuff, and my favorite so far (even if it doesn't fit me - I made it for my wife). Black oil-tanned and purple garment leather with nickle silver spots and a nickle silver button closure. -

I've taken up leatherworking as a hobby and recently made a dog collar for my daughter's boxer. After a month I noticed the spots lost their shine, and also the D ring (which was nickel covered) turned a pinkish--maybe copper color. I'm not sure where this hardware came from, possibly Tandy, but what is the best finish to buy to retain the spots shine. Thank you in advance for your advice. -
Please can anyone identify what these spots are and what causes them? They are all over a hide of 3/4 oz Veg tan. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them or at least use the hide? Thanks Paul -

I'm new to the forum, but hoping for some help. I made my wife a checkbook cover using Eco-Flo dye and Finish. The other day she got caught in the rain and the cover got a few drops on it. I'm not sure why she was writing a check in the rain, but now the cover has spots on it. I tested some scraps using two or three coats of Super Shene. I also tried some neatsfoot oil. The dye bled every where I put a drop of water. Any advice would be much appreciated.

While finishing the edges of a project today (50/50 resolene/water on top of Angelus leather dye) I had to walk away suddenly and some foam sitting on top of the piece dried and caused spotting. It is still there after completing the finishing and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for removing, or at least lessening, the appearance of these spots. There are several in other areas as well. Thanks for your help! -
I am wanting to make a bronc halter with spots on it but I am having a few problems. I can't sew so unless I learn to hand sew so I'm not sure if that is a problem or not. I don't how they work lol If anyone knows how they work and how I can put them on my halter without them hurting my horse, please help! thanks in advance!
