Are there certain times of the year when it's best to buy leather?

Are there a certain times of the year when the tanneries typically have an excess of stock, vs other times of the year when they're lower on stock while they wait for new batches to finish tanning? This is the case with other agricultural products, but leather typically has a longer shelf life. I've only been working with leather consistently for about six months, so haven't picked up on the annual "cycles" for all of this yet.
