I like the hat. I have some thin leather I may try it with. Can you share the process steps?

Odd Lot Oil Tan Sides | Springfield Leather

the pattern is dieselpunk ro  indiana jones  i did a few changes

changes..... added a wire on the crown

used a leather trim on the crown

doubled the leather on the brim

used lace instead of saddle stitch

instead of crown being inverted i let the edge stand proud

Great work my friend!  I think the crown not being inverted is what may be bugging you.

What'd you use for brim and crown wire? I have the plans for this and was thinking of trimmer line but didn't know if it would be stiff enough.

That is exactly what the problem is.  I wanted the lace stitching to bee seen ,Fashion over form

So I corrected the problem and I am ok with the look,

I like the original one best,,, as dieselpunk style. The second one doesn’t look dieselpunk as much. IMO.

Sure the crown on the first one is a bit wonky,,,,but in dieselpunk ,,,, a lot of the style is wonky.

nice work, just the same!

I like the second one better, the crown on the first did look off to me too, but then, I'm more traditional.

Very nice.

I like it although it would be too hot for me to wear except in the dead of what we call winter.
