I had someone contact me about the period style half flap holsters that I have been making but they wanted it fully lined. I normally do not line these but was happy to do so for him.

Here is the holster. His will be for a 1860 Conversion which I do not have in my collection so I used my 1851 to model the holster.

that half flap is just cool beans ! I have been thinking on a holster for my dads old BP, now mine, for a long time. I love the look of that flap design, I'll be using it for sure. Man you do great work!!!

Nice holster, of course, but I'm more interested in the revolver - brass frame, colour-case hardened, cartridge conversion - what's not to like?:specool:

IMHO...I think putting your maker stamp on the front of the holster takes away from the look you were trying to achieve.  Everything flows nicely towards the toe of the holster until it runs into the stamp.

Thank you Chuck. The Half Flap holsters such as this were nice back then and I think they fit in perfectly for someone who wants to possibly use a gun for hunting as the half flap will hold the gun in greatly under most circumstances.

Thank you for your input. I put it there as a homage to the way they did it back then. I have also put them on the back if requested as I know some people do not like them on the front.

I took parts of several historical holsters from the time periord to make mine. Here is one of them of Texas Ranger James Hawkins.
