Good morning everybody,

Its been a long time since I’ve made a holster, much less one with a pig skin liner. In the past I after I sewed everything together I wrapped the pistol in saranwrap then wet the holster and stuffed it in to mold it to shape. Now if I glue the pig skin liner before sewing it all together and then wet the holster will the pigskin stretch too? I’d hate to tear it all up!

Thanks!

Dano

I do the same with horsehide which is almost as soft as pig and have had no problem. Just go easy on the stuffing part. Got one in the works right now.

I line some of my pocket holsters with pig skin.  Never had an issue with it tearing or not stretching with the leather.  Most annoying part for me is sometimes the edges don't take and want to split,.  Then I get to re glue them after it's stitched and molded.

I use pig skin on every holster, stretch the pig skin when gluing it to the veg tan. Helps with when you fold and wet mold.
