Meet Ms Cleo. A purse I made using the hardware and the liner from that old tired faux bag

The strap is a leather mystery weave belt that was I got from an estate sale,  cost? Free

Yes sir,  the boot purse that I make is the best return items

I bought these boots at a thrift store for 20 bucks, sold the purse for 100

Repurposing is far better than recycling

Wishing you a quick eye and steady sewing on these projects

Those are beautiful. I love recycling.  You are doing such a great job of it.

I love what you did with the boots. what a great idea. makes me want to look for similar boots as well!

I buy old handbags if I like the design and plan to make similar ones, using the hardware in those purses. So I get both the pattern and the hardware.

There are so many beautiful handmade things out there that are old and used but can be beautifully repurposed!  Recycling is the fashion as well, these days.

say you have an old purse with 2 outside pockets.  Remove  the pockets and sew them together. Leave the top open

add a magnet for a closure

and a strap  young ladies like the itty bitty purse

When I cut the pocket off the old purse

i take care to leave the stitches in the holes. Zoom the above purse. I left the tan stitches and restitched with red

giving it a contrast or something. I do not know everything it just looks good to me

the cut stitches are held in place by using liquid electrical tape

That's why the 2 colors. And liquid electrical tape.  Did not hear about it before today. Must look into its uses. Uttam will be interested.

When you use old purses, how do you get rid of the smell? That is one thing I have difficulty with. Some get clean fast, others not so.

This is going to get complicated so sit down with a hot cup of coffee

Readers digest version

I buy a thrift store purse that is past its prime

I strip the purse of its hardware

I make another purse and use the hardware

now.  I am using the discarded pleather to make a guncase

yhat is 2 projects out of one

only thing is
I am not very proud about using this vinyl

I found some pretty good stuff in ' op  shops' ( thrift shops) over the years . I've found some really good and unusual belt buckles too.  I'm all in favour of re-using, re-purposing  .  Too much goes into waste.

Well done on that :specool:
