DieselTech Report post Posted September 29 Guys & gals I recently got a Cobra class 26 for my lighter weight sewing projects. 1st off, I am a Newbie to this machine sewing stuff. Couple questions? 1: Do I need to get a serrated feed dog & needle plate setup to sew 18oz waxed canvas? 2: What accessories do I need? & Which model of sewing machine accessories. The Cobra class 26 looks like a 1341 feed dog & needle plate would fit. I plan on making some waxed canvas & leather tote bags. As well as some waxed canvas & leather backpack's. 3: What type of needle point should I use for the mixed material sewing? Thanks any & all help will be greatly appreciated. bruce johnson Report post Posted Sunday at 01:46 PM My first call tomorrow morning would be to Aaron Heizer at Makers Leather Supply in Elm Mott TX. Aaron is a Cobra dealer, leather and tool supplier, and teaches classes. He has a video on Canvas and leather bags a few years ago and may have done classes on them. Good guy and super approachable. Thanks bruce. Yeah I buy a lot of stuff from Aaron & Don Gonzales to help support them. Lmao like they need my support. Thanks. I'll give them a call & see they can help me out. I got a feeling I might need to change the feed dog & needle plate to sew this waxed canvas. Lmao I could be totally wrong too. Thanks.
DieselTech Report post Posted Sunday at 06:36 PM I think I might need something like this for sewing canvas. I'm a newbie so I'm unsure.
