K frame thumb break

Latest off the bench. I used Bordeaux waterstain and dark brown antique. I used a piece of hose clamp to make a break stiffener and placed it between the holster body and belt slot panel. It has a 1/2" full tapered welt also.

Definitely like the elongated / asymmetrical quilting. I've done a few on a squared pattern. I'm certainly going to  stretch it out next time.

Leatherpoint needles give it that angled hand stitched look. I'm still getting familiar with the machine but it makes light work of these projects

How thick do you figure this is at the thickest point you stitched?

3 layers of 8/9 oz. Closer to the 9 side of things, so a bit shy of 1/2". 3/8" at best. And that is just around the trigger guard area to about half way down the holster because that's where I started to taper off the welt

I like it.  When I finish the belts I have on my bench, I'm thinking cross draw for my Birdshead Uberti 357 SA.  I too like that color, and have used a quilted pattern, but like your extra touches.

Sounds like a fun project. I wanted to keep it simple, I only wish I remembered to wrap my snap cap :| maybe next time haha.
