Members StevePianoPlayer Posted March 27 Members Report Posted March 27 I was given a silver buckle that has a 2" loop soldered on - no swivel. I think it is called western style with a simple peg clasp that goes through the hole in the belt. I want to buy a lether belt blank for it, but one that fits my pants has to be 1 1/2" wide. How do I attach the blank and keep it centered in the loop? Quote
Members Mulesaw Posted March 28 Members Report Posted March 28 @StevePianoPlayer You could get a short piece of 2" wide leather (around 2" long) , and wrap that around the loop. You then attach it to the 1.5" blank and make sure that it is centered. The 1.5" strap will be sandwiched between the 2" piece. You can either sew it on or use a couple of rivets. Brgds Jonas Quote
Members Handstitched Posted March 28 Members Report Posted March 28 Or fit a couple snaps so its interchangeable with other buckles , I do that on almost all of my belts. CFM chuck123wapati Posted March 30 CFM Report Posted March 30 (edited) The pin and hole in the center of the belt will center the buckle in front, plus the loop that holds the tongue on the back side will also center it. Don't worry about it. Use it as is. Members Mulesaw Posted April 5 Members Report Posted April 5 @StevePianoPlayer Glad to be able to help 🙂 It is looking great, I like that you have cut the 2" piece so it follows the curve of the buckle. Good job 👍 Brgds Jonas Quote
Members DoubleKCustomLeathercraft Posted Saturday at 02:20 AM Members Report Posted Saturday at 02:20 AM (edited) As @chuck123wapati said, the bar in the buckle typically has a v in the center to keep them in line. This allows buckles to used on several belt widths. You don't need to do anything special I see that you've already come up with a solution🍻 Edited Saturday at 02:24 AM by DoubleKCustomLeathercraft Quote I post most of my work on IG now.
