Don't forget to factor in the cost of the brass letter's. Some people have 2/3 of the same letters in their name. There are many types/sizes/fonts so best if you can buy all at the same time from the same manufacturer because this is a rabbit hole to be avoided.

400 books is quite a large production. I only do a few books a month so my technique isn't going to fit what you do. I do artwork that covers a large area and I don't use traditional text. I've been looking at digital foiling machines but the prices are quite steep, you're looking at machines that are thousands of dollars.

What are you trying to print on the Bible covers, is it plain text or more intricate art and text? Are you making the Bibles or are you buying Bibles and adding the print?

If you're looking at plain text you should look at hot foil stamping. Although the cost can be in the hundreds of dollars it's cheaper than digital foiling.

You can also look into printing companies. There are some places that will make sheets of foil you can place on the cover and transfer the foil. It also can be expensive for large productions.
