Members Handstitched Posted June 4 Members Report Posted June 4 I watched ' thd good, the bad And the ugly for the umpteenth time today, the full special edition. It's my fave movie, I enjoy it every time I watch it. I know nothing about ordinance, but when Tuco and Blondie rig that bridge to be blown up, they put dynamite all along the bridge, with fuses etc all tied together, they both tell each other about the location of the money. Then Blondie lights one fuse. How does one single lighting of the fuse set all the other dynamite off ???? The whole bridge blows up in its entirety ?? Or is it one of those movie questions nobody is meant to ask? I do know about the 'boo boo' during filming....oops . The way they rigged it, the main fuse would light each bundle in succession, so it should have blown up in succession instead of all at once. At least that's how I see it but if the dynamite is pressure sensitive, then it may all blow up really close together, so it looks like one blast. Members TonyV Posted June 4 Members Report Posted June 4 It's the movies. Whatever is needed to spotlight the hero's role will be there, despite the technicalities. Witness that a lone good guy with a small caliber semi-auto pistol will always destroy numerous bad guys with machine guns. It's the law. So 1 fuse for a dozen charges will work. I'm more interested in is his hatband tooling pattern. Quote
Members Handstitched Posted June 4 Author Members Report Posted June 4 @TonyV you and me both regarding his hat band. I've paused the movie to get a closer look. I love watching these westerns , i keep looking at their rigs , the stitching etc. @chuck123wapati thanks for that . I have seen the ' behind the scenes ' vid. A miscommunication caused the bridge to get blown up when the cameras were not rolling. Leone was really p*ssed off !! What was in the final cut was the second take. But still a great movie, that and the 'Fistful' movies that i have watched countless times. But it was a cool scene! 1 hour ago, TonyV said: It's the movies. Whatever is needed to spotlight the hero's role will be there, despite the technicalities. Members BlackDragon Posted June 4 Members Report Posted June 4 (edited) Fun fact: After the good the bad and the ugly Clint Eastwood didnt want to be type casted as the man with no name so he didnt want to take part in the next movie, Once upon a time in the west. The hat went to Jason Roberts who played Cheyene. And the hatband went to Charles Bronson, Harmonica. It's funny with movies. We see a racoon flying a spaceship and think "How cool is that" but dynamite blows up funny and think "thats odd". Lol Edited June 4 by BlackDragon Added pic Quote
